President Trump signed a pardon for Jon Ponder, a bank robber who had spent more than 20 years in jail for the robbery and other crimes, and Ponder will be featured during the second night of the republican pseudo-convention program, the Associated Press reports.
Ponder started a non-profit called “Hope for Prisoners” that help former convicts in the Las Vegas area reenter society. Ponder will appear with the former FBI agent who arrested him, Richard Beasley.
Ponder is one of two Black people on the agenda for tonight’s republican programming.
