A member of Trump’s impeachment defense team, Pam Bondi, the former Florida Attorney General who took a $25,000 campaign contribution from Donald Trump and then dropped a lawsuit against Trump University, claimed Democratic candidate Joe Biden looks at America as the “Land of Opportunism.”
Claiming that as Florida AG, she “fought corruption and knows what it looks like”–by the way, did I mention she refused to prosecute Trump University after getting a $25,000 campaign contribution from Trump?–she called Hunter Biden “a corrupt Ukrainian oligarch” who had no experience in the energy sector.
[FACT CHECK: Hunter Biden is American, not Ukrainian. Biden isn’t an oligarch; he’s an American citizen. And Biden had experience in Mergers and Acquisitions; no corporate board has people with only one specialty.]
Bondi also claimed that that Joe Biden had a Ukrainian prosecutor fired.
[FACT CHECK: The prosecutor led a group of corrupt prosecutors known as the Diamond Prosecutors who were so well-known to be corrupt, they took diamonds as bribes. Also, multiple republican Congressman signed a letter calling for the firing of the prosecutor, Viktor Shokin.]
In a stunning example of projection, Bondi said, “How many American families would be allowed to get away with this?” apparently showing her ignorance of Trump corruption uncovered just in the last three years.
“Why should there be one standard for the elite political class and another set of rules for the rest of us?” Bondi asked with a practiced sincere look, forgetting that Trump claimed “absolute immunity” from any investigation and has refused to have his close associates honor subpoenas for his political or personal records.
Bondi never mentioned the questions of corruption and emoluments.
