South Dakota Governor and former beauty queen Kristi Noem continued the republican National Convention’s habit of stoking fears of violence and forgetting current realities in the opening statement of the program.
Noem claimed that Trump lifted people out of poverty, while neglecting the fact that 30 million people are out of work. Noem’s contention that “from Seattle and Portland to Washington and New York, Democrat [sic]-run cities are being overrun by violent mobs.”
In fact, the populations of Portland, Seattle Washington, DC and New York City have increased steadily. And there aren’t violent mobs roaming the streets, as Noem claimed.
