Thomas Robertson, a former police sergeant in Rocky Mount, Virginia arrested for participating in the Republican-led domestic terrorist attack on Congress, was sentenced to more than seven years in prison Thursday, Reuters reports.
The federal jury found Robertson guilty of six counts, including obstruction of an official proceeding and obstructing justice and sentenced him to 87 months in prison, matching the longest sentence a January 6th domestic terrorist has received to date.
Robertson dug himself a deeper hole when he started to amass a cache of weapons and ammunition while he was out on bail and constructed a rudimentary improvised explosive device in his garage.
