A former North Carolina municipal IT staffer is suing the mayor and the town of Mooresville, accusing them of retaliating against him for alerted his superiors to late night security cam footage of His Honor entering the unoccupied city hall with an unknown woman in October 2024 and then later walking through its corridors naked from the waist down, People Magazine reports.

In the federal complaint filed in the Western District of North Carolina, Jeffrey Noble asserts he never did anything to share or publicize the footage of Mayor Chris Carney’s carnality, but he couldn’t simply unsee the conduct “inconsistent with Town ethics and security policies” either, so he reported the misconduct to his supervisor. Instead of reporting it to a district attorney or a state ethics bureau, Mooresville officials then locked down access to the footage and Carney took a leave of absence for a few weeks last year. Noble was then accused of leaking the footage to the media, suspended, and subsequently fired in what we calls an act of unlawful retaliation.

People’s article does not mention that Carney’s a Republican and, in fairness, the position is officially non-partisan. However, even if his 2024 reelection campaign website didn’t give it away with the very obvious “PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT” tagline there’s that Ballotpedia lists him as having ran for and served in the North Carolina state Senate as a Republican from 2011 to 2013. And then there’s the “North Carolina should take a conservative, moral stand on social issues. As for my family and me, we use the Bible as our moral compass. If I don’t like a law, I don’t go out and break it. I follow it while I work to change it. It’s really that simple, and I expect the same from others, especially government officials and employees. Four weeks orientation for current cops transitioning to street-level roles in federal law enforcement agencies is fine in a complete vacuum.

Minneapolis volunteers Patty O’Keefe and Brandon Siguenza tell MPR News that on Sunday they were following an ICE vehicle when the agents got out, smashed the windows, sprayed them with tear gas, and dragged them to a gulag for eight hours before they were released without charges.

“The first thing I told the agent is that I had my passport in my coat pocket as he was handcuffing me. He brought me into an unmarked SUV and sat me down without buckling and ripped the whistle off my neck and said ‘I’m gonna be needing this later,'” Siguenza said, while O’Keefe, being held in a separate vehicle, was subjected to the agents’ mockery and taunts about her appearance.

“The ICE agent who had pepper sprayed into the vents of my car said ‘you guys gotta stop obstructing us, that’s why that lesbian bitch is dead,’ verbatim, speaking of Renee Good. Which filled me with absolute rage and shock that you could say that to one of her neighbors,” said O’Keefe.

Siguenza said he was subjected to interrogation over who he’s working with and what shadowy malefactors are paying him to fight back against the occupation. “I was shocked when I heard this, I didn’t know this was something they were doing. On the way to the room I saw many people, mostly Hispanic people, in cells crying. We heard people yelling, ‘let me out,’ we heard screaming, we just heard wailing, desperate wailing.” O’Keefe said she heard ICE agents laughing and bantering while the detainees moaned desperately in their cells. “Just the level of disconnection that you have to be able to have to have those light hearted conversations on the backdrop of desperate crying from people who have been torn away from their lives and their families is pretty disturbing to me.”

What the fuck does that have to do with ICE agents shooting Good in the face? Why should ICE detain suspects already in custody before the state can put them on trial for murder or rape? If they’re so worried about Walz and Frey releasing these suspects then why not just post ICE agents to the jails to scoop them up the minute they get “cashless bail”?

The skeletal remains of Fossil, Oregon mayor Ed Asher have been found, nearly 20 years after he disappeared during a fishing trip in Washington’s Tilamook Bay, the New York Post reports.

FBI agents on Wednesday executed a search warrant at the Virginia home of Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson, seizing a phone and a smartwatch, allegedly in connection to an investigation into a government IT administration contractor with a security clearance who is accused of smuggling classified intel out of the office, the paper reports.

“While it is not unusual for FBI agents to conduct leak investigations around reporters who publish sensitive government information, it is highly unusual and aggressive for law enforcement to conduct a search on a reporter’s home,” the Post writes of the somewhat muddy situation.

Basically it would seem that, if Joe Biden or Kamala Harris were president and Chris Wray still the director of the FBI now, the reporter would be subpoenaed and/or subjected to an interview. K$H decided to flex to rattle the media rather than handle it with discretion and professionalism.
