The gunman who killed at least two people and wounded another nine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island is in custody about 12 hours after convicted felon President Trump stupidly and recklessly claimed there had been an arrest effected, NBC’s Tom Winter reports.
Nine victims are dead along with one gunman in a shooting at Sydney, Australia’s Bondi Beach on Sunday – a massacre that coincided with the city’s local “Chanukah by the Sea” celebration in the vicinity, though officials have yet to confirm that it was indeed the target – the AP reports.
Of course it was the target, but authorities in other countries tend to be weird about the details of certain incidents. They did however mention that another suspect was shot and arrested at the scene of the attack – and that a number of suspicious items were recovered.

Way to make sure that the marginally poorer GOP donors who weren’t invited to the bacchanal got the memo on the strategy. Then there’s that the memo itself is “the Supreme Court could come though for us big on these rulings,” and not like, “the White House and Congressional GOP have this bold new plan to address voter concerns about the economy and cost of living, so this is worth your investment to help us maintain the majorities,” or even just “Hey, we’re focus grouping the best propaganda campaign ever, it blows the doors off of caravans, rainbow fentanyl in Halloween candy, and trans kids playing girls’ sports. Spoiler alert: SOROS is the main villain. MAGA voters HATE Soros!”
Next there’s the anticipated rulings themselves: What the hell gerrymandering decision are they counting on besides the potential VRA overturn opening the door to killing something like 10 to 12 Black-majority districts in the Deep South? Even if it is gutted it’s extremely unlikely to come in time for the 2026 midterms. Beyond that the court already this month strongly hinted the country’s a free-fire zone on partisan redistricting going forward in the ruling greenlighting Texas’s MAGA gerrymander and won’t block the ones favoring Dems, mainly California’s Proposition 50.
In case you missed it, convicted felon President Trump on Friday afternoon posted that he “had a very good conversation this morning with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, and the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet, concerning the very unfortunate reawakening of their long-running War. They have agreed to CEASE all shooting effective this evening,” blah blah blah.
Charnvirakul missed it too, writing “Thailand will continue to perform military actions until we feel no more harm and threats to our land and people. I want to make it clear” in a Facebook post on Saturday as the firing has most certainly not ceased, with Cambodian forces launching rockets a homes in villages on the Thai side of the border, injuring at least four civilians, two of them critically.
That came after Thai Air Force F-16s bombed a hotel and a bridge in Cambodia. “Thailand is still firing. How can we have a ceasefire?” said Cambodian man Un Saruon, who woke up 6 AM local time Saturday to the sound of shells being fired over the border about nine miles away from his home. “I don’t think the war will stop soon. The word ‘ceasefire’ is only coming from Mr Trump,” Un added.
“Republicans in the Indiana State Senate, who voted against a Majority in the US House of Representatives, should be ashamed of themselves. Headed by a total loser named Rod Bray, every one of these people should be ‘primaried,’ and I will be there to help! A push notification reading “LATEST: Newly released docs reveal former Obama White House counsel repeatedly communicated with Jeffrey Epstein” was sent to users of the hardcore MAGA platform Truth Social on Friday, linking to a post by some right wing influencer account.
“Jeffrey Epstein files reveal a woman named Kathy Ruemmler was one of the people who had the most communication with Epstein. Over 100 emails and more than 50 meetings in just 5 years after he was a convicted sex offender. She was White House counsel to Barack Obama,” wrote “Citizen Free Press,” in the post. Wow, this means Reummler was connected to a notorious sex trafficker.
That’s really bad. She should be held accountable by the media and put on the spot to spill what she knew about Epstein’s atrocities against over a thousand girls and young women over the years and when she knew it. This should be a full court press of relentless scrutiny. No sleep for Reummler.
Senior Pentagon official Eric Geressy, who seems to have been now-Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s superior officer during their service in the Iraq War as Petey Pee Pants refers to him as a “mentor,” sure got upset when a Mother Jones reporter asked him why his “GoodReads” page included books about “Asian wife sharing,” another one titled “Asian Wife Went With Her Dad’s Friend: A Cuckold Story,” and also one about “ladyboys,” all alongside two books by Hegseth.
The page was deleted the day after the reporter, Dan Friedman, asked Geressy to comment on it. So yeah it was probably Geressy’s. The story includes Hegseth attempting to sic Pizzagate asshole Jack Posobiec on Friedman about his own personal life if he did not relent but obviously MJ ended up printing it – and also included hints about domestic abuse allegations and other degeneracy.
A Clackamas County, Oregon grand jury has found that a local sheriff’s deputy was justified in non-fatally shooting 44 year-old Daniel Zimmerman as she responded to a mental health/possible arson call at his home last month because, even though he wasn’t carrying a firearm, the way he ran at the deputy while holding his pants up with one hand behind his back made it look like he was getting ready to pull one, OregonLive.com reports on a pretty embarrassing fashion mishap.
It also didn’t help that Zimmerman was shouting “loudly and aggressively” as he charged toward the deputy, or that he was trying to set a utility trailer on fire when she and a state trooper responded to Zimmerman’s father’s call. Colorado lawyer H Michael Steinberg suffered multiple spinal fractures and a shattered pelvis after Daniel Ashby, the uncle of an unnamed 12 year-old victim with the same surname, assaulted him in a courtroom hallway following a hearing on Tuesday after Ashby confronted him and demanded to see Steinberg’s client, 19 year-old Christopher Ramirez-Rodriguez, whose vehicle ran a red light and fatally struck the younger Ashby back in July. There’s no indication in the article of whether Ramirez-Rodriguez is not a citizen, nor was he impaired by drugs or booze when the crash occurred.
So now a lawyer’s crippled, Ashby’s going away for a while, maybe even longer than Ramirez-Rodriguez, the nephew’s still dead, and the Post does not seem all that horrified by the brutality inflicted on a guy, who was just doing his job as every single accused is entitled to representation.
Steinberg’s not Emil Bove or Alan Dershowitz or Ed Martin, all of them effectively criminals themselves who would be far more deserving of courthouse manhandlings. If Ashby REALLY wanted to get to Ramirez-Rodriguez he could have vandalized a police car in the vicinity of wherever the defendant is being held and gotten himself locked up there… if Ramirez-Rodriguez is even being held. If he made bail then things would be even simpler than that. Fucking dumbass.
Long-suffering El Salvadoran immigrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s lawyer Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg had obviously very good reason to fear that the Trump Regime would simply re-detain him when he showed up for a mandatory check-in at the Baltimore ICE facility on Friday, less than 18 hours after his release from a Pennsylvania gulag, so he and his team stayed up late working on a motion to get a temporary restraining order put in place before Kilmar came in contact with the agency again.
“When Mr Abrego Garcia received the notice leaving the detention center yesterday afternoon that he had a check-in this morning, it seemed like a terrible case of deja vu, right? That he would just be freed in order to simply be cruelly rearrested again. So we were up late last night. Shortly after midnight, we filed an application for a temporary restraining order with Judge Xinis. And at 7:30 am, she granted the temporary restraining order, prohibiting Kilmar Abrego Garcia from being rearrested at this check-in today,” Sandoval-Moshenberg told reporters on Friday, per Fox News.
