She didn’t address Fox News’s unsolicited bid for a September 17th debate, but just now her account tweeted “Trump agreed on a September 10th debate. It now appears he’s backpedaling. Voters deserve to see the split screen that exists on a debate stage. I’m ready. So let’s go.”

A snap national survey by the New York Times/Siena College finds Vice President Kamala Harris trailing convicted felon former President Trump 48 to 47 percent among likely voters.

Not that we necessarily believe it because polls are shit this year, but in the Times’s convoluted and self-calibrated telling of the story, it’s a 5 percent improvement over Biden’s numbers.

Yeah, that’s what they voted for instead of the bipartisan border package that Trump killed.

The Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General on Thursday released a lengthy report on its review of former Attorney General Bill Barr’s involvement in a criminal investigation into allegations of election fraud in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania in September 2020 and it’s not a good look for Barr, though the IG’s office concluded he hadn’t actually violated any rules.

Stupid story as short as possible: That month then-president Trump was constantly screaming about how there was going to be a massive fraud in the election, specifically over mail-in ballots. He seized upon an instance of nine military absentee ballots being found in a dumpster in Luzerne County and – funny enough – those ballots, seven of which were for Trump had been invalidated specifically because the voters had failed to enclose them in “secrecy envelopes” that state Republicans had demanded. Details like that didn’t matter to Trump or his fans, and he screamed at Barr to do something about it immediately. The best he had was skewing the narrative.

The IG’s report found he did: “The selective details about the investigation included in the initial [Middle District of PA] statement and the letter suggested that the actions of the individual who engaged in the conduct were intentional and likely chargeable criminally; however, even at that early stage of the investigation, Department leadership was aware of information that substantially undercut this narrative – including that the subject of the investigation was mentally impaired, appeared to have discarded the ballots by mistake, and would likely not be criminally charged. Indeed, the Department determined before Election Day that no charges would be brought in the matter, although it failed to inform the public of that fact until well after the election.”

House Oversight Chairbilly James Comer on Thursday admitted he had utterly failed to deliver accountability to the “Biden Crime Family,” and that simply hopes that Trump wins the 2024 election so a “new justice cabinet” will prosecute Joe, Jim, and Hunter Biden. Supposedly leftist Deep State tech firm CrowdStrike on Wednesday decided to try to repair the reputational damage wrought by the cascading fuckup a faulty software update that canceled thousands of flights globally, brought down the London Stock Exchange, and all sorts of other miseries on downstream businesses far and wide. Their complimentary gift? CNN reports it’s a $10 Uber Eats voucher. Even better: The codes – for which it isn’t clear if Delta Airlines got one single $10 for the entire company or if they gave out hundreds to corporate employees – stopped working.

“Uber flagged it as fraud because of high usage rates,” a CrowdStrike spokesperson told CNN.

Eyeliner-wearing Ohio Senator JD Vance last month abruptly broke off talks with Democrats on a bipartisan bill prohibiting insurance companies from charging new moms co-pays or other expenses related to childbirth while he was being vetted by convicted felon former President Trump’s campaign to join the fat bastard’s ticket as running mate, the Washington Post reports.

The sudden shift made all the more obvious by the fact that Vance had been working with Virginia Senator Tim Kaine on the bill since June 2023. Vance also backed out of supporting another bipartisan bill cracking down on fees charged by Visa and Mastercard with similarly curious timing.

Sources tell NBC News that former President Barack and former First Lady Michelle Obama were holding back on endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as to not overshadow President Biden’s withdrawal from the race and his own backing for the veep – something that will change in the next few days, with the two planning a joint appearance on the campaign trail in the near-to-middle term.

A “source close” to the 44th president said he’s “been in regular contact with [Harris] and thinks she’s been off to a great start.” The two have been in close contact since Sunday, with Obama offering his counsel to the veep on launching her campaign, specifically on how best to unify the party – which, if true, has been extremely valuable advice that Harris executed flawlessly.

A House Republican tells Axios that convicted felon former President Trump’s pick of eyeliner-wearing Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate was ill-advised, saying “The road got a lot harder. He was the only pick that wasn’t the safe pick. And I think everyone has now realized that.”

Two Russian and two Chinese bombers, apparently operating in coordination, were intercepted by NORAD fighter jets from the US and Canada as they approached US airspace in Alaska on Wednesday, CNN reports.  NORAD identified the Russian TU-95 Bear and Chinese H-6 bombers as they entered Alaska’s Air Defense Identification Zone, an area outside US airspace where US forces can redirect aircraft before they breach sovereign areas.

In response to the nuclear-armed game of “I’m not touching you,” NORAD deployed American F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, and Canadian CF-18 fighters.  Two things are unique:  it’s an unusual sighting of the Chinese craft that far north, which haven’t ventured into the Alaska ADIZ before.  It was also the first time the H-6 bombers were used on these types of incursion flights, giving US and Canadian forces their initial look at these renovated Soviet-era Tupolev Tu-16 twin-engine bombers.

As Death’s Uber continues to check house numbers on his street, 93-year-old Rupert Murdoch is attempting to change his will to ensure his right-leaning son Lachlan maintains control of the conservative media empire he created, the New York Times reports.  Murdoch’s efforts are being challenged in a Nevada probate court by his three other children, James, Elisabeth and Prudence, who all have more moderate political views.

The problem is, Rupert already essentially divided his estate up by establishing an irrevocable family trust almost a quarter century ago.  Rupert now wants to change the terms of the irrevocable trust to give Lachlan significantly more control over the media company, saying that should the company stray from its conservative voice, it would lose its audience and value, therefore harming the trust’s beneficiaries.

Despite calling the effort to change the trust “Project Harmony” hoping to avoid future conflict, Rupert’s underhanded attempt to wrest control away from his children while confirming his business model is to cater to conservative whims ultimately led to such a bad family rift, three of his children didn’t show up for his fifth wedding last month.
