It’s actually literally fucking true that Kamala Harris is the first Indian-American US Senator and the first Black vice president. Those two facts about her background are not in tension with each other.

The date is just a week after what would have been ABC News’s night hosting the second Biden-Trump debate. Quite possible that Team Trump and Fox News are colluding to try to box out the ABC News debate somehow.

Black “Fox and Friends” cast member Lawrence Jones and Fox News corporate comms claim that host Brian Kilmeade “clearly said college sorority,” emphasis ours, Zeteo’s Justin Baragona reports on the aftermath of Kilmeade actually much more clearly calling it a “colored sorority.”

“[Politico writer] Eugene Daniels’ tweet [with the clip] completely misquoted and unnecessarily maligned Brian Kilmeade who clearly said college sorority. Sounds like they’re just going to seize upon the smallest shadow of doubt about what was said and go with the “complete denial” route.

Just because the NAACP and maybe some other legacy institutions (maybe even the sorority itself) haven’t adjusted their names does not make it okay. Now Fox and Friends viewers are going to start thinking it’s okay because host Brian Kilmeade used it while complaining about Vice President Kamala Harris’s plans to skip Israeli dictator Benjamin Netanyahu’s big address to Congress on Wednesday.

Mediaite has the next minute right after this clip and no, the Black dude there, Lawrence Jones, does not tell Kilmeade he fucked up. Jones did however warn Republicans the “DEI” bullshit is “going to tick voters off” and “you’re going to lose.” He also said “Look, I understand it, Biden set the stage for it saying: ‘Hey, I’m only going to select a black woman,'” which is a lie that Mediaite of course didn’t fact-check. In 2020 Biden said only he was committing to selecting a woman as running mate, not specifically a Black woman. Jones may have been confusing that statement with Biden committing to nominating a Black woman for the Supreme Court, which he did and fulfilled.
