After Stormy Daniels appeared on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show Tuesday night and described how she and her family have been terrorized by Donald Trump’s supporters in the wake of her testimony that led to his Manhattan criminal convictions, a crowdfunding effort to fund a “safehouse” for them is nearly three-quarters toward its million-dollar goal.

Daniels said she and her family have been threatened within their community, with people driving by their home.  After being doxed online, Daniels said she got threats on social media, including one that said the MAGAt would rape and kill her family, including Daniels’ 13-year-old daughter.  Daniels also described efforts to evict the family from their home, which they rent.

“Stormy needs help to relocate her family to somewhere they can feel safe and live life on their terms. She needs assistance to be able to continue to pay the mounting court fees so that Trump doesn’t just win because his pocketbook seems endless. To date, Stormy has had to foot the bill for all of this, and it has depleted her resources and savings,” described Dwayne Crawford, Daniels’ former assistant and tour manager, who launched the fundraiser, adding, “Trump may have a mega fundraising operation to keep him from facing consequences, but that shouldn’t mean that Stormy becomes the sacrificial lamb of a corrupt system.”

As NBC White House reporter and president of the White House Correspondents’ Association Kelly O’Donnell discussed with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre the possibility of President Joe Biden coming to the press room to take questions during Wednesday’s briefing, a voice from the back of the room–allegedly Newsmax’s James Rosen–pipes up, “if he’s awake!”  O’Donnell snaps back, “That’s inappropriate.” It is, and it should cost that reporter his seat in the room.

CNN reports that Israel and Hamas are in the end stages of negotiating a ceasefire that would include an exchange of hostages that would bring all people being held by Hamas home, according to an Israeli official with knowledge of the talks.  The potential agreement comes eight months after Hamas invaded Israel, pushing Israel to restrict access to Gaza.

Using mediators from Egypt and Qatar, Hamas reportedly sent the Israeli government a peace proposal, a fact that was confirmed by Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency.  The deal must now be approved by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netayahu.

In an all-team conference call for Biden-Harris campaign staffers on Wednesday, President Joe Biden reassured his team that he would remain the Democratic Party’s nominee, saying “I’m in this race to the end and we’re going to win because when Democrats unite, we will always win,” NPR reports.

Vice President Kamala Harris reinforced the President’s message saying, “We will not back down. We will follow our president’s lead.”  While some polls have shown a dip in Biden’s support since his embarrassing debate performance last Thursday, others show no significant change in the race, and post-debate fundraising reports show Biden outpaced his opponent.

The MAGA Reich on the other hand obviously prefer Biden to stay in but are simply covering their bases in case of a rapid Kamalascendancy. An anonymous House Republican this week told Fox News that “it’s probably good for Joe Biden that he’s now probably not going to have to be subjected to this another four years. But for the party, it’s not great. It’s not clear to me that it’s good for us, either,” adding that another Dem nominee makes it “a tougher race” for their Orange God Emperor in November. It changes everything. It’s just a completely unknown wildcard right now.”

Again, we’d like to stay out of this and focus on the singular goal of ending the threat Trump poses to American democracy. The simple truth is that something has to end: Either Biden’s candidacy or this fucking insufferable circlejerk in the media over it. This can’t continue and we’re absolutely rooting for Joe to pull through this critical stretch. If he can’t? There’s one option.

We’re going to declare neutrality on the prospect of Harris as the Dem nominee. Running her instead of Joe Biden would have implications that are impossible to foresee. That said, she’s literally the only other option for reasons both legal – Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Josh Shapiro, etc cannot actually replace Joe Biden because there’s no way to transfer $240 million in campaign funds to a new candidate – and political – how would it look to minority and female voters that the actual constitutional successor, a highly intelligent and accomplished woman of color, got passed over?

It’s either Biden or Harris. That’s it. And if she’s going to run then she might as well already be the incumbent, as in Joe Biden should resign so she can go into the election as the 47th President of the United States… after he’s ordered a few strategic drone strikes with his new powers.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey on Wednesday sort of followed through on his moronic plan to sue New York State at the Supreme Court for prosecuting his Orange Allah, but rather than the vague “unconstitutional lawfare” bullshit he originally promised it’s a “First Amendment” complaint because the Empire State’s “illicit prosecution, gag order, and sentencing,” allegedly interfered with Missourians’ ability to make a fully informed decision in the race, Fox News reports.

Instead of letting presidential candidates campaign on their own merit, radical progressives in New York are trying to rig the 2024 election by waging a direct attack on our democratic process. I will not sit idly by while Soros-backed prosecutors hold Missouri voters hostage in this presidential election. I am filing suit to ensure every Missourian can exercise their right to hear from and vote for their preferred presidential candidate.”

After not appearing during her father’s weeks-long trial for his election interference hush money conspiracy relating to the sexual interlude he had with a blonde porn star while also having an affair with a nude model as her dad’s third wife cared for her newborn half-brother, Ivanka Trump performatively said her father’s felony convictions were “painful,” the Daily Beast reports.

Barack Obama has voiced support for beleaguered incumbent President Joe Biden after Biden’s poor debate performance last Thursday, the Washington Post reports, saying words of support for Biden at a Democratic fundraiser on Friday.  Obama phoned Biden after the debate, offering himself as a sounding board and personal advisor, which makes sense given only four other non-(convicted)-felons know what it’s like to serve as President.

To those close to him, Obama noted that Biden’s reelection effort was damaged by the debate showing, telling allies that Biden’s already tough slog to reelection got tougher because of how feeble and confused Biden appeared.  But overall, Obama was understanding given he was widely lambasted for his first debate performance during his 2012 reelection campaign against Mitt Romney.

A cargo ship the same size as the MS Dali, the ship that destroyed the Key Bridge, leaving the Port of Baltimore on Monday lost electrical power and was adrift briefly, but was able to regain control and return to port without incident, the Baltimore Sun reports.

The 965-foot Liberia-flagged cargo ship Bellavia underwent repairs and eleven hours later departed the port without incident.  Late last week, the Biden Administration presented a $3.1 billion plan to rebuild the bridge as well as repair or replace other major highways across the country.

For a Party that wants to allow 13-year-olds to work in meat processing plants, Republicans in Florida are trying their damnest to put a 19-year-old woman on government assistance by refusing to allow her to simply do her job and make a living, so she’s suing Florida’s attorney general and two local prosecutors who went after her employer.

According to ABC News, the owner of Cafe Risque in Gainesville has joined the lawsuit filed by its former employee, Serenity Michelle Bushey, who claims the new state law unfairly restricts her First Amendment freedom of speech and the Fourteenth Amendment equal protection rights after the cafe was forced to fire her for being under 21-years-old.

Florida’s new law prevents anyone under the age of 21 from being in a strip club, but like eight of her other former co-workers, Bushey is between 18 and 21.  “As with similar performers around the state, Bushey earned her living through her art while providing entertainment for the benefit and enjoyment of her audience,” the lawsuit said. “Plaintiffs have a clear legal right to engage in protected speech of this nature.”

Recently disbarred hair dye dispenser Rudy Giuliani will entertain dozens of people now that he’s been hired to be a host on stuffed foam salesman Mike Lindell’s Frank Speech network which is somehow holding on despite multi-million-dollar decisions against its owner, whose pillow company had a massive sell-off recently.

Per Newsweek, Lindell hired Giuliani after the former Trump lawyer’s radio program on New York’s WABC was canceled in May.  It’s unclear if Lindell will pay Giuliani or send his paycheck directly to his employee’s creditors after Giuliani started to liquidate his assets to pay tens of millions of dollars in legal judgments.

Succinctly addressing questions about the Democratic ticket to bed, Vice President Kamala Harris pushed aside a call from Texas Democratic Congressman Lloyd Doggett for Joe Biden to decline the Party’s nomination, CBS News reports.

“Look, Joe Biden is our nominee. We beat Trump once, and we’re going to beat him again, period,” she said in an interview with the network, adding that she is “proud to be Joe Biden’s running mate.”

The Mississippi journalist who uncovered how Republican Governor Phil Bryant used welfare money to enrich his friends, benefactors and cronies like former NFL quarterback Brett Favre is now preparing for an extended stay in jail for refusing to divulge her sources during a defamation suit the governor filed, NBC News reports.

Anna Wolfe uncovered tens of millions of dollars in questionable or illegal payments directed by Bryant, initially looking into why Mississippi rejects 90% of welfare applicants but still collected and distributed the money.  Bryant brought the suit against Wolfe’s employer, Mississippi Today, saying he was never charged in the scandal and therefore the characterization of his actions as criminal was defamatory.   “I didn’t sue them because they exposed $77 million worth of misspending. He applauds them for doing that,” Bryant’s lawyer said. “The suit is about defamation.”
