The Federal Elections Commission last week quietly dropped an advisory opinion allowing all candidates for federal office to raise unlimited sums for issue-advocacy groups pushing for ballot measures, an under-the-radar rule change that the New York Times hints is a serious force multiplier for President Biden in Arizona, Florida, and Nevada where state constitutional abortion rights referenda are expected to be sharing the ballot with him in November.

If the change seems abstract to non-campaign finance geeks, meaning everyone – even your median political news junkie knows approximately jack shit about the FEC’s vast bailiwick – let the NRSC’s protestations tell the story. “The risk of corruption inherent in direct foreign national contributions to candidates would simply metastasize to the ballot initiative context, with the same deleterious effect,” their lawyers wrote in a memo to the FEC before the opinion dropped. Always a good sign when the GOP alleges foreign cash could erode the integrity of American elections.

The Times report characterizes the timing of the opinion coinciding with the decapitation of RNC chief counsel Charlie Spies as interesting but they have no idea if there’s a connection. Trump Reichsminister of politics Chris LaCivita insisted the rule change was good for the Orange Fuhrer’s campaign in some secret way, telling the Times that they “will engage in all opportunities available, including new ones to defeat the corruption and failure of the Democrat machine.”

Obviously planning on ignoring fat former President Trump’s insistence that Democratic Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar is innocent and somehow being framed or railroaded by “Joe Biden” after being indicted for accepting nearly $600,000 in bribes from some Azerbaijani and Mexican scumbags, Politico Playbook reports House GOP leadership are eager to exact revenge on Democrats for fellow federal criminal defendant and Cameo star George Santos’s expulsion.

“Can swing district Democrats buck their party leadership who is protecting Cuellar and say he should resign? The House Democrats’ official slogan is ‘people over politics.’ Are they going to subscribe to that or no?” an NRCC official asked Playbook rhetorically. That it’s coming from the NRCC should tell you this is more of a campaign messaging thing than something more immediate about the vote count in the House. Unlike Santos, Cuellar wasn’t literally ripping off members of his own party (and their moms), is well-liked on both sides of the aisle, and hasn’t been hit with an Ethics Committee investigation yet. Still there’s probably an opportunity to squeeze Dems and no one should be surprised if a Republican just charges ahead with an expulsion resolution soon.

Robert F. Kennedy’s campaign claims its a victim of the societal censorship–again!–after Meta admitted it unintentionally (though correctly) labeled a link to a 30-minute campaign ad as spam, knocking it off Facebook and Instagram for house after it was launched on Friday, per the New York Times.

The video, produced by the Kennedy-supporting American Values 2024 Super PAC, portrays Kennedy as the ultimate outside, free of the corporate influence and corruption of traditional politicians.  After supporters reported that their posts containing a link to the ad were being banned, the campaign sent out a new email asking them to document the issues and send them to the campaign–along with a donation to Kennedy to help the candidate The Man wants to silence.

New RNC co-chair Lara Trump on Sunday told Fox News assclown Maria Bartiromo she’s flatly opposed to votes being counted after election day. Now sure, this was couched in the context of mail-in ballots that were received after November 5th because some the postal service might be a little slow and what not, but it’s hard not to see this in the context of her degenerate father-in-law’s meltdowns before, during, and after the 2020 election on the specific topic. “Big problems and discrepancies with Mail In Ballots all over the USA. Must have final total on November 3rd,” the fat bastard tweeted on October 26, 2020, knowing full well about the “Red Mirage” ahead of time.

What’s even more insane about this is that two days after the 2020 election, Wisconsin GOP officials cold called people in Pennsylvania in a desperate, incredibly narrow attempt to try to find enough who hadn’t turned in absentee ballots to vote for Donald and mail them in as Pennsylvania law at the time allowed for late arriving ballots to still be counted under specific circumstances. Meaning that the lag Lara says she’s commanding the RNC’s lawyers to shut down here in Nevada this November is something that swing state Republicans tried (and failed) to exploit in 2020.

Two Israeli officials tell Axios that the US withheld a shipment of ammunition to the IDF last week, prompting “serious concerns inside the Israeli government and sent officials scrambling to understand why the shipment was held,” per Axios, who were unable to get the White House, Defense Department, or State Department to comment on why the bullets weren’t delivered.

The Gateway Pundit writer, Paul Serran, clips heavily from Reuters and Associated Press reports in his article about the charges. “AP says that ‘the country has a democratically elected Jewish president’. OK, to begin with, Zelensky cancelled Presidential elections that should have happened in March. By May 22nd, his mandate will be over and he will be totally autocratic,” Serran writes, emphasis his, without mentioning how Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has maintained power since 2000. Serran’s article, printed Saturday, also includes an embed of one of his own tweets, reading “Ukrainian Nazis in full display,” with a pic. We can’t see the pic because Serran deleted the tweet but did not remove the code for the embed. Typical of the level of professionalism at the Pundit.

North Dakota Governor and Trump 2024 running mate hopeful Doug Burgum on Sunday morning tried to downplay the New York Times’s reporting on fat former President Trump’s Saturday night meltdown at a “retreat” for rich donors and other Vice Presidential contenders at Mar-a-Lago. Per the Times, “attendees were not authorized to speak publicly about the event, which was a closed-door briefing and gathering for party donors,” at which the orange slob complained President Joe Biden is running “a Gestapo administration. And it’s the only thing they have. And it’s the only way they’re going to win, in their opinion, and it’s actually killing them. But it doesn’t bother me.”

In remarks the Times compared to Mitt Romney’s infamous “47 percent” line, Trump also said “When you are Democrat, you start off essentially at 40 percent because you have civil service, you have the unions and you have welfare. And don’t underestimate welfare. They get welfare to vote, and then they cheat on top of that – they cheat.” All this Burgum insisted was “largely very upbeat.”

A new ABC News/Ipsos survey finds President Biden leading fat former President Trump 49 to 45 percent among likely voters six months out from their inevitable faceoff. Biden’s lead drops to 46 to 45 percent among registered voters and flips to Trump 46 – Biden 44 among “US adults.”

ABC doesn’t say the actual number in a five-way race including Russian assets Robert F Kennedy Jr, Jill Stein, and Cornel West, but writes “Among registered voters in the five-way race, it’s 42-42 percent, Biden-Trump, and Biden is a non-significant +3 or +4 points in likely voter models,” indicating that they’re not exactly happy to report their marginally positive bullshit findings .

Charlie Spies, the chief counsel of the Republican National Committee, resigned Saturday after growing tensions with the Trump surrogates running the Party as well as with the presumptive nominee himself, NBC News reports.  A longtime GOP operative, Spies was hired in March after Lara Trump and Michael Whatley took the helm, but because Spies criticized efforts to overturn the 2020 election, a rift quickly developed with Team Trump.

Given that Spies had worked for Ron DeSantis, Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush in previous campaigns–Spies was part of the Ron DeSantis team’s Titanic performance in the 2024 GOP primaries–Donald Trump himself reportedly approved Spies’ hiring, but later learned of harsh comments Spies had made in the past about Trump’s election denialism.

What sticks out however is the “Crooked Joe Biden Fascist Prosecutors” part, which we are certain is referring to Assistant DA Matt Colangelo, a former Justice Department official who now serves on Alvin Bragg’s team. We don’t know how close of a call this is but just going by the time Judge Arthur Engoron fined the fat fuck $10,000 for screaming about “a very partisan judge with a person who is very partisan sitting alongside him,” meaning Engoron’s clerk Allison Greenfield. Trump had been warned not to mention her at all and Engoron determined that, pretty obviously, he was violating the gag order imposed over a post attacking Greenfield as “Chuck Schumer’s girlfriend.”

If Judge Juan Merchan is going to follow Engoron’s lead it’s possible this is a breach of the gag order’s proscription on “Making or directing others to make public statements about (1) counsel in the case other than the District Attorney, (2) members of the court’s staff and the District Attorney’s staff.” So if this puts Trump in jail it will be the plural “s” in “prosecutors” that did him in.
