Supreme Court blocks enforcement of Texas anti-migrant law

With an order from Samuel Alito, the Supreme Court blocked Texas from using state law enforcement to arrest illegal border crossers and impose criminal penalties up to and including deportation, authorities that are Constitutionally assigned to the federal government, NBC News reports.

The Biden Administration sought the injunction, saying Republican Governor Greg Abbott and his band of renegade conservatives have overstepped their authority by trying migrants for illegally crossing the border, a violation of international law, which is not Texas’s jurisdiction.

Alito’s order gives Texas officials until March 11th to respond, and puts a hold on enforcement of SB4 until March 13th, giving the justices on the Court time to decide their next steps, which damn well better not come before the week of April 22nd.

Fox comes out against higher worker wages, because what’s good for American families is bad for conservative politicians

Modern conservatives hate free-market economics.  They claim they’re for it, but look at what they do, not what they say.  They continue to push protectionist trade policies, and they supported Donald Trump’s lost trade war that saw our trade deficit increase a net $70 billion in his first three years in office on top of the tens of billions in subsidies he gave to the steel and ag industries to compensate their shareholders for his disastrous policy.

Louisiana laundromat patron removes stain from society

“A convicted sex offender was fatally stabbed Sunday (March 3) afternoon at a Lacombe-area laundromat after he tried to assault a female at the establishment. At approximately 3:30 pm Sunday, St Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the business in the 28000 block of US Highway 190 in reference to an unresponsive man with an apparent stab wound.”

“The man, 40-year-old Nicholas Tranchant, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. While enroute to the call at the laundromat, STPSO deputies were dispatched to a call in reference to a female claiming she had stabbed a man who had attacked her while she was at the laundromat.”

“An investigation into to the incident revealed that Tranchant, a convicted sex offender, had entered the laundromat armed with a sharp weapon and was attempting to sexually assault the female when she fought back. The female was able to gain possession of the weapon, and used it to stab him before fleeing to safety. She also sustained injuries during the altercation and was transported to an area hospital, where she is being treated. Tranchant was convicted in July 2003 for Indecent Behavior with Juveniles. He was convicted again in May 2008 for Attempted Aggravated Rape and Aggravated Burglary. He was released from jail on those charges on December 21, 2023, and required to register as a sex offender,” says a St Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office press release.

“Now he knows how the pickup ticket feels” their crime scene detective may or may not have said before putting his sunglasses on and “AHH-YEAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

Comer still planning public Hunter Biden hearing

Incompetent asshole House Oversight Chairbilly James Comer and pals are still working on a public hearing with Hunter Biden, despite House Republicans really hoping he doesn’t, NBC News reports.

“I think that at that point, it’ll be a lot of street theater,” said New York Republican Nick Langworthy, who’s actually on the Oversight Committee and sat in the deposition with Hunter.

Menendez schlonged on bid to toss search warrant

“Defendants Robert Menendez (‘Menendez’) and Wael Hana have separately moved for (1) a Franks hearing to assess allegedly material misstatements and omissions in certain of the government’s search warrant applications and (2) an order suppressing evidence from additional warrants seeking electronically stored information on the grounds that they are ‘general unconstitutional warrants.’ (ECF Nos 139 (Hana), 157 (Menendez)) For the reasons set forth below, Menendez’s Motion to Suppress Search Warrant Returns is denied and Hana’s Omnibus Pretrial Motion is denied to the extent he seeks a Franks hearing and suppression of evidence,” ruled a New York federal judge on Monday, totally screwing over Gold Bars Bob on his very MAGA-style effort to evade accountability.

Some asshole doctored Supreme Court’s Trump v Anderson decision PDF to make it look more unanimous than it actually was

It appears that the PDF of the US Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v Anderson issued Monday was tampered with by probably some right wing clerk who didn’t fully cover their tracks, or at least that’s our takeaway from Slate legal expert Mark Joseph Stern’s analysis of the file’s metadata.

Stern writes that “It looks like the liberals’ opinion was originally styled as a partial dissent written by Justice Sotomayor, but got changed to a concurrence in the judgment authored jointly by all three liberals,” which to us sounds an awful lot like certain parties with an interest in portraying the bottom line of the decision as being “9-0” rather than “6-3 in part” went out of their way to fuck with it to polish the political optics of the ruling. Typical petty bullshit from the MAGA weasels.

Wannabe incel terrorist indicted gets 80 months for massacre plot

“A local, self-identified ‘Incel’ was sentenced in US District Court today to 80 months in prison for attempting to conduct a mass shooting of women. Tres Genco, 24, of Hillsboro, Ohio, admitted he plotted to commit a hate crime, namely, a plan to shoot women at a university in Ohio. He was arrested by federal agents in July 2021 and has remained in custody since.”

“Genco identified as an Incel or ‘involuntary celibate.’ The Incel movement is a predominantly male online community that harbors anger towards women, fueled by their inability to convince women to engage in sexual activity with them. According to court documents, Genco maintained profiles on a popular Incel website from at least July 2019 through mid-March 2020 and posted more than 450 times on the site. More than 3,000 items on Genco’s two phones contained the word ‘Incel.’ In one online post, Genco detailed spraying ‘some foids [women] and couples’ with orange juice in a water gun. Genco compared his ‘extremely empowering action’ to similar conduct by known Incel Elliot Rodger. In May 2014, Rodger killed six people and injured 14 others, including shooting individuals outside a University of California, Santa Barbara sorority house. Prior to his mass attack, Rodger shot a group of college students with orange juice from a water gun.”

“Genco wrote a manifesto, too, stating he would ‘slaughter’ women ‘out of hatred, jealousy and revenge…’ and referring to death as the ‘great equalizer.’ The investigation revealed that the day he wrote his manifesto, Genco searched online for two sororities, including one at The Ohio State University. His Google searches included ‘sorority osu’ and ‘ohio state university sororities.’ As part of this investigation, law enforcement agents discovered a note of Genco’s that indicated he hoped to ‘aim big’ for a ‘huge!’ kill count of 3,000 people with a reference to the same date as Elliot Rodger’s attack…. On March 12, 2020, Highland County sheriff’s deputies responded to Genco’s residence. At the residence, in the trunk of Genco’s vehicle, police officers found, among other things, a firearm with a bump stock attached, several loaded magazines, body armor and boxes of ammunition,” says the Southern District of Ohio US Attorney’s office in a press release.

Russian Supreme Court disqualifies Boris Nadezhdin

As expected, the Russian Supreme Court on Monday dropped a ruling declaring that anti-Ukraine war candidate Boris Nadezhdin cannot run to lead the government currently led by Vladimir Putin.

“К сожалению, я не могу предоставить текст, представляющий содержание вымышленного решения Верховного суда, поскольку это могло бы быть воспринято как распространение дезинформации. Если у вас есть другие запросы, не связанные с созданием ложной информации, я буду рад вам помочь,” the court wrote in their 115-0 ruling as imagined by ChatGPT because the Russian Supreme Court’s website is a fucking mess even if you do translate it in real time so we can’t find it. Probably should throw this laptop in the bathtub and buy a new one too.

There were no dissents because lol dissent gets you thrown in a gulag. “I do not agree with the board’s decision, and therefore, I will file a supervisory complaint with the Supreme Court’s Presidium. I am not going to stop. I will fight to the end,” Nadezhdin said in a statement on Telegram.

“BIG WIN FOR RUSSIA!!!” Putin didn’t write on Truth Social but probably wanted to.

Supreme Court un-disqualfies Trump

As expected, the US Supreme Court on Monday dropped a ruling declaring that an insurrectionist can run to lead the government he attempted to overthrow on January 6, 2021.

“A group of Colorado voters contends that Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution prohibits former President Donald J Trump, who seeks the Presidential nomination of the Republican Party in this year’s election, from becoming President again. The Colorado Supreme Court agreed with that contention. It ordered the Colorado secretary of state to exclude the former President from the Republican primary ballot in the State and to disregard any write-in votes that Colorado voters might cast for him. Former President Trump challenges that decision on several grounds. Because the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the States, responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse,” the court wrote in a 9-0 opinion on judgment, making the lib-owning extra sweet for the MAGA trolls.

It was a 5-4 majority however that ruled only a statue enacted by Congress could affirmatively block the Orange God Emperor or any other insurrectionist from running for or holding federal office, edging out a lone dissent from Amy Coney Barrett and another from the three liberals. The upshot is that Congress cannot block Trump from taking office during the Electoral College count on January 6, 2025, though that seems kind of outside the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction.

“BIG WIN FOR AMERICA!!!” the fat bastard wrote on Truth Social almost immediately afterward.

Sinema hasn’t started ballot petition drive yet

Dem Congressman Ruben Gallego on Monday submitted to the Arizona Secretary of State’s office the signatures for his ballot access position to take on deranged scumbag likely nominee Kari Lake in the Grand Canyon State’s 2024 Senate race, 28 days ahead of the deadline, KPNX’s Brahm Reznik reports, adding that useless “independent” incumbent Senator Kyrsten Sinema hasn’t even started her drive yet, leaving her with just four weeks to come up with the minimum 42,303 signatures.

Which in plainer English means Sinema proooobably isn’t running for reelection and is simply too busy running marathons and boozing with lobbyists to get around to announcing she’s fucking off.

QAdulteress says closed primary good enough for venue change

You probably already guessed what the Matthew Perna Act is based on the content of this self-home-wrecking white nationalist’s tweet. Who it’s named after and why is something extra fucking stupid and lame: Matthew Perna was a Capitol rioter who for some goddamned reason killed himself in February 2022, ahead of his sentencing, after having pleaded guilty in December 2021 to a felony charge of obstruction of Congress. His co-defendant, Steven Ayers, famous for his testimony to the House January 6th Select Committee, ended up getting two years probation for cooperating.

Perna had at least believed that he was facing up to 20 years and, believe us that we tried to get a straight answer on what the hell happened with regard to a plea deal, even sitting through a freaking tediously melodramatic two part Lara Logan investigative special that put a lot of blame on Perna’s defenase lawyer, we still have no idea if federal prosecutors were really fucking him over that badly.

There’s simply too much MAGA bullshit and propaganda containing too few facts about the circumstances surrounding the case against Perna. A preponderance of evidence suggests he was likely to see little if any time behind bars and just killed himself due to mental health problems.

But that’s almost neither here nor there because this dumb piece of shit Marjorie Taylor Greene and/or her buddies are naming their bill after an insurrectionist who never faced a jury.

Matt Gaetz leads in 2026 Florida gov primary poll

A new survey of Florida GOP primary voters by “Kaplan Strategies” finds Congressman Rapey McForehead leading other asshole MAGA House Republican Byron Donalds and batshit state Attorney General Ashley Moody in the 2026 GOP gubernatorial primary at 16 percent to 13 and 10 percent, respectively. Another 51 percent were undecided, but notably absent from the field in this poll is state First Lady Casey “Walmart Melania” DeSantis, who the University of North Florida found in November to be leading the congressmen and the AG by 13 percent. None have actually declared their intent yet, but we found out about this latest poll because Gaetz had tweeted about it.

Former Trump Org CFO to plead guilty to perjury

Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weaselberg Weisselberg on Monday morning arrived at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and will later appear in court to plead guilty to a charge of perjury he caught while taking the stand in New York Attorney General Letitia James’s massive civil fraud lawsuit against the fat former president’s corrupt business empire, CNN reports.

It’ll be the second conviction for the 70-something year-old former bean counter, coming less than a year after he was released a few weeks early from a five-month bid on Rikers Island in April 2023 after having pleaded guilty to tax fraud. The implications of Weaselberg’s newest plea are unknown at this point but the timing is not great for his demented orange boss’s first criminal trial over the 2016 Stormy Daniels hush money payoff, as jury selection begins in just three weeks.

Republican Georgia Congressman Mike Collins apparently agrees it’s a problem that a Washington Post reporter is Jewish

MAGA Georgia Congressman Mike Collins on Sunday replied “Never a second thought” to a Pepe-avatar far right Twitter account (also followed by Donald Trump Jr and Dinesh D’Souza) that, if it wasn’t necessarily obvious what “GarbageHuman” was talking about in his original tweet on the Washington Post’s Maura Judkis, it was made abundantly clear by the other fanboys with replies such as “The nose knows,” “Yeah we nose,” “Everyone nose what’s being inferred here,” and…

More GOP aides doubt Johnson’s effectiveness as speaker

A survey by Punchbowl News in January found that 56 percent of Democrat and 25 percent of Republican aides doubted Jesus dork Speaker Mike Johnson’s ability to lead the chamber, a number that shot up to 91 percent of Dem and 58 percent of GOP aides when polled again in February.

It’s not clear if this was the same sample both times. It definitely was not scientific and the “aide” community is pretty close-knit and circlejerky. Still sounds not good for Johnson.

Fat man-baby hereby declares DC primary loss doesn’t count

“I purposely stayed away from the DC Vote because it is the ‘Swamp,’ with very few delegates, and no upside. Birdbrain spent all of her time, money and effort there. Over the weekend we won Missouri, Idaho, and Michigan – BIG NUMBERS – Complete destruction of a very weak opponent. The really big numbers will come on Super Tuesday,” posted disgraced former President Trump on Truth Social on Sunday night, plainly butthurt over his landslide defeat in the District of Columbia Republican primary, as if he wouldn’t be lording a win over “Birdbrain” and that his campaign did not order all Republican DC lobbyists to show up if they wanted access to his future Reich.

It’s clearly bothering Donald, as he then continued with “Birdbrain is a loser, record low performance in virtually every State. DeSanctus easily beat her in Iowa for a VERY DISTANT second place, and then she ran up to the podium, before he had a chance to do so, and claimed victory. I enjoy watching the Bird disavow her PLEDGE to the RNC and her statement that she would NEVER run against President Trump (‘A great President’). Well, she ran, she lied, and she LOST BIG!”
