A document written by Proud Boys members’ titled “1776 Returns” containing the right wing fascist street gang’s plan for January 6th was filed in court by federal prosecutors Wednesday and in the immortal words of rodent-faced bastard Chuck Todd, “this is devastating” for their defense, whatever it is they’re planning to argue on trial. The “Overall Goals” are to “fill the building with patriots and communicate our demands,” like they were planning a prolonged sit-in.
The “Execution” section says “Ensure the crowd is full and ready to go” which they did and “ensure there is an entry point for the masses to rush the building” which they did, as at least one of the breaches was opened by Proud Boy leader Dominic Pezzola, who smashed his way through a window and led hundreds in after him. “Distract law enforcement by pulling fire alarms around the city.” The document seems to take pains to make it look like “peaceful resistance” that the Proud Boys were not planning a prolonged violent hostage situation (like the Oath Keepers were) so much as an “occupation” but that’s not really a defense especially considering they knew they still had to use force to get into the Capitol and allow the unaffiliated Trump fans in. It’s a hell of a read.
