A now-deleted TikTok video of Santa Clarita, California dentist Dr Harleen Grewal contains some, let’s say interesting, statements of how her politics permeates her practice of administering oral care to patients, the most interesting of which is the assertion that she intentionally lowers the level of anesthetics to patients who don’t also support her favorite president of all time, KTLA reports.

In the video Grewal crows happily about her “wall of fame” in the office’s hallway with pics of convicted felon President Trump and his minions and the reactions they get. “When they see the pictures, you’d think their butt was on fire. They jump off and take off as if Trump was coming in the room,” Grewal said in the video of her speaking to a small audience in a setting that’s not entirely clear but seems to be a classroom of some sort. They laughed, though perhaps some nervously.

Grewal then says she asks “How’s Bidenomics working out for you?” when patients complain about prices and reminisces happily about how she had fewer Dem patients during the pandemic, wishing they still “stayed home with their masks on” instead of, you know, paying her to fix their teeth.

Then comes the “joke” about how she applies the MAGA way of doing things to her work. “I have a secret hat I use sometimes. It says, ‘Make your smile great again,’ I wear that when I work on my patients so when they look horrified or complain, I quietly cut back on the laughing gas and say, ‘You got this. It’s not as bad as you think it is,'” said Grewal and yeah that’s actually kind of bad. For her.

First off, a lot of people, far too many acted pretty fucking stupid earlier this month, putting their names on posts celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death, which this site pointedly did not having been shaken by the gruesome footage of it. Kirk did not deserve it. Yeah, in the general sense that someone who says “I think it’s worth it. I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational,” is kind of asking for it well, yes, he asked for it.

For Kirk, who said that in 2023 just days after an ambiguously transgender maniac killed three children and three adults at a Christian elementary school in Nashville, it was an abstraction, like how an antivaxxer rests easily knowing it’ll be someone else’s toddler who will die of measles.

Charlie didn’t see his own neck gush like a bathtub faucet and think “Hey you know it’s one thing to read a news story about someone getting shot in their carotid artery by a high-powered hunting rifle but seeing it happen on video was another thing entirely,” because that shot was fatal. He missed the slow-mo of the prudent, rational deal he had made his peace with publicly coming for him.

You don’t need to go any further than that, especially when you should have seen it coming that the MAGA propaganda-industrial complex would essentially canonize him, treat his memory as sacrosanct even though the reality was that his legitimately effective talent at organizing disaffected young male right wingers – as well as giving attarctive female ones a place to meet and have sex with “married MAGA dads” – was overshadowed by ubiquity and mediocrity as a right wing media personality, the Dollar General version of Tucker Carlson in his prime in an era when Tucker Carlson himself is nowadays at best the Five Below version of Tucker Carlson in his prime.

Even if you can’t feel any sympathy for Kirk or his family or condemn a murder you should at the very least be able to come to the realization that – unlike, say, Osama bin Laden – the world is not a better place after he was killed. It certainly is not a better place for the untold thousands who found themselves canceled and fired for posting shit like that they’re “happy he’s rotting in hell.”

Which, apologies for the lengthy swerve, comes back to the main point here. Libs of TikTok wasn’t born the day Charlie Kirk was shot and neither was the format of that psycho witch’s tweets.

The MAGA media machine’s talent at taking some fucking rando who committed a transgression against their Holy White Nationalist Empire and making them into a singular avatar of the “radical left” is, from a clinical distance, actually pretty impressive. In a world where not a single elected Democrat of any significance at the national or state level did not express condolences – even Ilhan Omar tweeted “While I disagreed with Charlie Kirk vehemently about his rhetoric, my heart breaks for his wife and children. I don’t wish violence on anyone. My faith teaches me the power of peace, empathy, and compassion” and Jasmine Crockett said “I’m a Democrat, and Charlie Kirk’s murder must unite all Americans against violence” – the powers at Fox News and their ilk would have you believe that, because of posts like that one by the college financial advisor, that the entire Democratic Party, starting with John Fetterman, were lining up to piss on Kirk’s grave one by one.

No nuance. No qualification. No mention of the very many, very prompt, and very sincere expressions of sorrow from leading Dems. To give the “radical left” that inch is to give them a light year. The “Trantifa” nonbinary furry graffiti artist – with a lengthy prostitution rap sheet that also describes their misspelled Che Guevara quote tattoo – is who Dems really are while hard-working, mentally stable adults like Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and Maryland Gov Wes Moore are just a front.

And a week from now there might be a news story about Harleen Grewal’s dental license coming under review and she’ll face suspension or revocation. No doubt have Raw Story already printed a perfunctory report on her malfeasance, that limp dick David Pakman will do a poorly-researched video segment on her, maybe Brian Tyler Cohen will post about it. Good job everyone.

Emotions will run wild for a few and then that’ll be it. No effort to maybe at least try to legitimately paint her as a gleeful personification of MAGA malevolence, a counterweight to the individual libs being singled out for severely consequential punishment for celebrating Charlie Kirk’s murder.

Many of their posts were definitely cruel. But were they crueler than deliberately and knowingly inflicting pain on patients who fucking pay for treatment because of their politics?

Say what you will about National Zero’s inconsistent quality and more consistent record of mismanagement. When the work is actually put in, this site’s pretty damn good at making the Venn Diagram of shitty, awful, criminally degenerate people and MAGA voters into a complete circle. Who else tracked down that the piece of shit who tried to feed date rape drugs to his 12 year-old daughter’s friends is a registered Republican? That the Canadian immigrant caught voting illegally in North Carolina is a hardcore Trump fan? That the Florida construction site hit with a massive ICE raid celebrated on MAGA Twitter a few months ago was being run by Trump donors?

The right wing media’s greatest victory of the last few years was getting low/no-info voters to hate liberals by relentlessly digging for and then amplifying the mutants on the margins – irrespective and often deliberately ignorant of the reality that plenty of those mutants hated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris even more than they hated Donald Trump – creating this image of a party and movement who value the right of trans athletes to compete at high school track meets more than they care about the price of your Big Mac and the venom constantly heaped on an infinitely deep well of random nobodies on social media absolutely was a key part of that successful strategy.

Laura Loomer and Libs of TikTok and all the rest of them would probably be actually legitimately fucking furious and indignant if the above image were used in some “THIS is a typical Trump voter” way, with subzero levels of self-awareness. But why use him when Dr Harleen Grewal is right there, laughing about literally torturing her own patients in front of a receptive-ish crowd?

Might that story have “appeal” to the no-info voters in the middle?

By the way KTLA is a Nexstar-owned station, so maybe someone’s getting fired for picking this story up, maybe not. What is clearer is that your median Joe Rogan fan will tune out within five seconds of you trying to explain the whole corrupt bargain between Nexstar and the Trump Regime, while the dentist torturing people on purpose might have a little more mileage in it with that crowd.
