As we’ve said repeatedly, we’re really trying to be circumspect here, not counting chickens before they hatch, managing expectations, staying positive but sober and realistic, so on and so forth.
That’s getting increasingly difficult every day of constantly seeing this kind of shit, even accounting for the fact that Fox News’s web operation is a cheap content mill constantly firing on all cylinders to print out complete garbage, no doubt some of an AI recomposing other sites’ articles.
This isn’t one of them. Fox News actually contacted “PR maven Juda Engelmayer,” for an “expert opinion” to use to slap together this piece of wishcasting with the terribly worded headline.
And it is brutal:
“As much as they talk about Donald Trump being a womanizer, there are some skeletons in their closet, which could be seen as hypocrisy,” Engelmayer, who is CEO of the firm Herald PR, told Fox News Digital.
While Trump has never shied away from his reputation as a playboy, Democrat politicians, Engelmayer observed, tend to portray themselves as morally upright.
“If the Republicans are smart they’d capitalize on it,” he said. “Everyone knows Trump’s history, and he wears it almost like a badge. When you’re voting for Donald Trump you’re not voting for Mother Theresa. But the Democrats claim they’re above this.”
Set aside the fact that this PR chode reduces Trump being caught on tape bragging about sexually assaulting women, found liable by a jury for sexual assault, determined by a federal judge to be a rapist, convicted by a different jury of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover up an arguably coerced sexual encounter, and accused by dozens of others of harassment and assault, as him having “reputation as a playboy.” Or that he has “shied away” from all that by denying it.
What Engelmayer is really doing here is simply spelling out the Trump-GOP playbook since the fat bastard took over the party in 2016: Smear Dems with the same shit he’s guilty of to get independent voters to just say “Oh fuck it, they’re all the same.” Trump a rapist? Whatabout Bill Clinton. Trump a Putin asset? Hillary sold all our uranium to Vlad. Trump separating families at the border and putting toddlers in cages? Obama did it too. Trump still corrupt? Hunter Biden’s laptop.
And on and on… But those were often if not always legitimately frustrating. Now we’re at “Trump still a rapist? Doug Emhoff cheated on his ex-wife twenty years ago,” and some PR dildo is telling Fox News that Republicans would be “smart” to try to “capitalize on it” reveals way too much about where morale is at inside the MAGA Cinematic Universe these days. None of it good.
They still even included Engelmayer saying it’s actually probably a dead end.
“While the Emhoff stories were damaging, Engelmayer said those opposed to Trump are likely to brush them off come election day. ‘I tend to think that most of the mainstream media as well as political pundits and advocacy groups are very adamant they don’t want Trump to win, so anything that goes on in the Harris-Walz camp right now is going to be excused,’ he noted,” Fox writes.
