Messiah promises salvation come January 20th

“It has just come out that Democrats in Washington and the Democrat Governor’s Office of North Carolina (Roy Cooper) were blocking people and money from coming into North Carolina to help people in desperate need. Biden knew about it, and so did Kamala! It’s all over the place – A HORRIBLE SITUATION. I will make it up to everyone when we take Office on January 20th.”

“HOLD ON, I’M COMING!” posted convicted felon former President Trump on Friday.

Cornel West disqualified in Pennsylvania for good

A Pennsylvania federal judge on Thursday told Russian asset Cornel West tough shit about being disqualified, even if he sympathized a bit, it’s simply too late to put West on the ballots that are already being cast early in the 2024 election in the state and there’s no undoing it, the AP reports.

“The laws, as applied to him and based on the record before the court, appear to be designed to restrict ballot access to him (and other non-major political candidates) for reasons that are not entirely weighty or tailored, and thus appear to run afoul of the US Constitution,” wrote district Judge Nicholas Ranjan as he expressed “deep concern” over the way the Secretary of State Al Schmidt’s office handled West’s petition. “If this case had been brought earlier, the result, at least on the present record, may have been different,” Ranjan continued. Too bad, Ivan.

Mark Milley fears a court-martial from new Trump Reich

Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley fears a second Trump Reich could see him called back into uniform and immediately court-martialed in a show trial for his thoughtcrimes, the Guardian reports from an excerpt out of Bob Woodward’s new book and what the Biden Administration should have fucking done to that piece of shit QAnon freak Michael Flynn.

NASA trying for Europa Clipper launch after Sunday

“NASA’s Kennedy Space Center remains closed as Hurricane Milton moves off the coast. The safety of everyone impacted by the storm remains our top priority as the agency begins the assessment and recovery process from the hurricane. Once the winds subsided to a safe level, the center’s Ride Out Team and engineering teams began initial checkouts to ensure bridges are safe and useable.”

“Later, a larger assessment team will thoroughly check the entire center. The agency’s Europa Clipper launch team will schedule an official launch date when teams from NASA and SpaceX are able to perform their assessments, and confirm it’s safe to launch. Teams are working to protect launch opportunities no earlier than Sunday, Oct 13. Clipper has launch opportunities through Wednesday, Nov 6. NASA will provide more information on Clipper launch opportunities as it becomes available,” NASA says in an update on the stalled launch of a probe to the icy Jovian moon.

Musk throttled JD Vance oppo upon Trump campaign request

Ketamine-brained Twitter owner Elon Musk throttled the reach of the Trump campaign’s oppo dossier on JD Vance after blogger Ken Klippenstein published it from an Iranian intel source who had hacked it, all on the request of Team Orange themselves, the New York Times reports on the least surprising possible upshot of Musk’s whole “Twitter files” circlejerk from late 2022 in which he and loyal dickheads Matt Taibbi, Mike Shellenberger, and other edgelords “exposed” the Jack Dorsey-led Twitter’s collusion with the FBI during the home stretch of the 2020 election.

Orange Slob automatically assumes Black man voting for him

Plainly annoyed by former President Barack Obama mocking him for wearing adult diapers during a rally on Thursday night, convicted felon former President Trump on Friday morning tried to play it cool and snarky, posting “Obama admits a total lack of enthusiasm for Kamala, especially with Black Men. I think Obama will be voting for me because he doesn’t like the fact that Kamala is an extremely Low IQ Person!” and then “Kamala’s Border Invasion is killing the jobs of our Black and Hispanic populations. BAD NUMBERS, will only get worse!” to try to keep it “policy focused.”

Tourists rescued from Colorado gold mine tour

One person is dead and another 23 were recused, four of them with minor injuries, after a mishap on an elevator going into a tourist trap Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine in Cripple Creek, Colorado malfunctioned, strandng the visitors either in the elevator shaft or down in the deep mine for more than six hours on Thursday afternoon into the evening, the Colorado Springs Gazette reports.

No details about the fatality were available, but it would seem that the person who died was on board the elevator. The Gazette’s article specifically mentions that “children were among the first group rescued” from the elevator “and were provided mental health services, according to officials.”

Not really trying to imagine what happened, guess we’ll have to wait for details.

Harris leads in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin: WSJ poll

A new set of swing state surveys by the Wall Street Journal finds Vice President Kamala Harris leading convicted felon former President Trump 47 to 45 percent in Arizona and Michigan and 46 to 45 percent in Georgia and Wisconsin while Trump leads 46 to 45 percent in North Carolina and Pennsylvania and 47 to 42 percent in Nevada… that last one probably being kind of an outlier.

“By 6 percentage points, more voters in Arizona are backing Harris now than supported Biden in a Journal survey in March. Her share of the vote has grown by 5 points in Georgia over Biden’s showing, and by 4 points in North Carolina. By contrast, Trump’s share has changed little in the seven states, compared with March,” the Journal writes about the movement toward Harris.

Trump loses Nobel Peace Prize to Japanese anti-nuke org

“The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2024 to the Japanese organisation Nihon Hidankyo. This grassroots movement of atomic bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, also known as Hibakusha, is receiving the Peace Prize for its efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons and for demonstrating through witness testimony that nuclear weapons must never be used again,” says the Nobel Foundation in a Friday announcement confirming that, once again, convicted felon former President Trump has lost its greatest prize.

This one’s definitely gotta sting for the fat bastard, given his efforts to raise awareness of the dangers of “nuclear warming” and that electing Vice President Kamala Harris is guaranteed to bring about a devastating exchange of ICBMs the moment she wins, which makes him basically the world’s leading advocate for anti-proliferation, much more so than some Japanese group that nobody ever heard of… The argument for why he should have won will go something like that.

The defeat is timely as it comes just about 12 hours after Trump whined “If I were named Obama, I would’ve had the Nobel Prize given to me in 10 seconds… He got elected and they announced he was getting the Nobel Prize. Remember? He said, ‘Oh. What did I do?’ He didn’t know what the hell he did. He got the Nobel Prize for doing nothing. For getting elected. But I got elected too,” during his Detroit Economic Forum “speech” on Thursday. The orange-colored asshole took specific issue with how his “Abraham Accords” were ignored by the Nobel committee. “Unprecedented. Nobody thought it was possible. I’m not saying ‘want’ or not, I’m not saying – I’m just saying, if it was anybody else, liberal, Democrat, they would’ve had it before the damn thing was even signed.”

Trump then claimed he wasn’t “looking for” a Nobel for the mostly fake “peace deal” or “politicking for it,” but that he was merely pointing out “there’s a lot of unfairness in this world,” lol.

Asked at town hall, Harris struggles to list any Trump virtues

Asked at the Univision town hall to list three virtues Donald Trump has, Vice President and Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris initially chuckles uncomfortably, then begins by going into the “more unites us” trope that used to be standard among politicians.  She then comments that she dislikes the violent tone of Trump’s rhetoric and how he seeks to divide the nation.

“I think he, um, [pause].  I think Donald Trump loves his family and I think that’s very important,” Harris finally notes.  “I think family is one of the most important things that we can prioritize.  But I don’t really know him, to be honest with you.  I only met him one time, on the debate stage.  I’d never met him before, so I don’t have much to offer you.”

Calm down. Be nervous. Calm down. Be nervous.

I’m feeling a bit bipolar politically.  Half of me is a nervous wreck, looking at national polls that put Democratic nominee Kamala Harris up by only 3%, and doing mental mathematics to negate the impact of Republican-commissioned polls that tend to infect polls close to elections.  That half is like, “How the fuck can it be this close?  Have they not seen him?”

The other half of me is, “Dude.  Chill.  We got this.”  Even the bad polls show that Trump has already peaked; with the exception of three polls from Republican-aligned interests–remember those mental gymanstics–Donald Trump hasn’t hit 50% in polls frequently since mid-August, even on the skewed-right RealClear sample.  On the other hand, Harris routinely tops 50% on a variety of polls. The legendary “undecideds” aren’t breaking for Trump; they’re either voting for Harris or they’re not voting.  Trump’s hit his ceiling;  Harris hasn’t found hers yet.

The trend holds on the state level as well:  in battleground states Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, Trump infrequently reaches 50% or over.  That was true largely for before Biden left the race as well, prior to his “Return of the Mummy” debate performance.

NOAA dumped climate change believer into eye of hurricane

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration–an agency which, contrary to Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s hypothesis, does not control the weather–announced that it had fulfilled the last wish of a long-time NOAA scientist who specialized in cyclone dynamics and dropped his ashes into the eye of Hurricane Milton on Tuesday night, First Coast News reports.

Peter Dodge, an honored 44-year NOAA employee who lived with vision disabilities, died in March 2023 and a research plane observing Milton deposited Dodge’s ashes in the storm’s eye as it peaked as a Category 5 hurricane before it hit Florida, noting the honor in its dispatch.

Congress concerned US alcohol research skewed by teetotalers

In a letter signed by mostly House Republicans but a lot of Democrats too, more than 100 Congressmen and women this week asked HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack why the fuck an underage drinking study they appropriated $1.3 million to conduct seems to be going rogue and keeps telling adults not to drink, pointing out that the study’s panel members “were not appropriately vetted for conflicts of interest” since, according to the New York Post, one of the members had a role in a recent WHO report that said no level of alcohol is safe for consumption by humans and another who personally recommends max one drink per day for adult men down from the government’s two max since 1980. So it’s time to pull the plug, per Congress.

If you’ll notice the first link above is to a PDF of the letter. It’s not hosted at a House.gov site though, but WineBusiness.com, making the whole “conflict of interest” charge sound a wee bit hypocritical.

Hell the lobbyists probably even wrote it for them. The Post points out that most of the members are from states with sizable booze industries so there’s the whole protecting people’s jobs aspect to this irrespective of whether the lobbyists are sending them bottles for signing on to the letter.

CHOP surgeons separate conjoined twins

A really sharp team of CHOP surgeons separated a pair of conjoined twin boys in August after an eight-hour procedure, NBC Philadelphia reported Wednesday, citing a hospital announcement.

The boys, now 15 month-olds Amari and Javar Ruffin, were born joined at the abdomen, sharing a sternum, liver, and diaphragm, making the CHOP shop’s job not just relatively simple but more importantly ensuring the boys have the chance to grow up and live more or less as if they’d never been conjoined in the first place. “Seeing them each in their own beds was an indescribable feeling,” said mom Shaneka Ruffin. “It feels like we are beginning a new journey as a family of six. We are so grateful to CHOP for helping make this day possible and letting us start this next chapter.”

And CHOP stands for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, recognized as worldwide specialists in conjoined twins, having cho- separated 32 pairs since 1957, more than any other in North America.
