“Newton County Sheriff Glenn Wheeler said a bear has been killed that is believed to be responsible for the fatal attack on a Springfield, Missouri man. The US Supreme Court on Monday denied certiorari to Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell’s bid for a new trial following her 2021 conviction on five counts including sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy charges related to recruiting and grooming underage girls for sexual abuse. Maxwell had argued that then-US Attorney – and later convicted felon President Trump’s first Labor Secretary – Alex Acosta’s corrupt 2008 deal with Epstein immunizing unindicted co-conspirators had applied to her and thus her charges and conviction were void. The Court did not explain their denial.

CNN’s Elie Honig had warned that, strictly on the legal technicalities, Maxwell might have actually had a good case before the court, estimating her chances at 20 to 30 percent that Los Supremos would actually take it up – and considerably higher if not for the fact that she was Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice. Yet Hunt can still have a significant impact as his entrance into the race will very likely pull the other two candidates under 50 percent and force a runoff in what was already an expensive and messy primary of a sitting US Senator who’d won four statewide elections before he ran for Congress.

Immergut said she sees the regime’s actions as a “direct contravention” of her first order, adding “It appears to violate both [10 USC §] 12406 and the Tenth Amendment” of the Constitution.

“Autopsy reports revealed the presence of alcohol, cocaine, and meth in Dixon’s system, KTVU reported, adding that Tsukahara and [other victim Jack] Nelson each tested positive for alcohol and cocaine,” the commenter had pasted in from the article before his little quip about the importance of personal responsibility. Which made it plain he was faulting Krysta for being drunk and on coke rather than getting into a hideous shitbox estimated by at least one analyst to be 17 times more deadly for drivers and passengers in collisions resulting in vehicle fires than the infamous Ford Pinto with its industry-first-and-last rear-mounted fuel tank. That was a hard record to beat.

There’s an ethical question here about whether KTVU and other outlets should have even printed the toxicology results for Nelson and Tsukuhara’s autopsies. It’d be one thing for that to come out in reporting on Tesla’s legal defense as this case plays out and they inevitably cite it as a mitigating factor, but it’s not adding anything to the overall picture about this tragedy. Especially when dozens of victims were sober at the time they were trapped and burned alive in other Tesla crashes. It’s at best gratuitous for media outlets to be including that detail when those two weren’t the one driving drunk and high on coke and meth at 3:08 AM while home from college on Thanksgiving weekend.
