In a major signal that even legacy polluters are ahead of the GOP on climate issues, ExxonMobil announced Tuesday it foresees its low carbon and carbon capture enterprises generating hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue and surpassing its traditional oil and gas business within ten years.

Reuters reports company CEO Darren Woods, in a meeting with Wall Street executives, noted that analysts estimate low- and no-carbon fuels and decarbonization will be a multi-trillion dollar business by 2034.  By comparison, the worldwide fossil fuel industry currently accounts for $4 trillion of the global economy.

Fox Corporation announced eleven people including Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Maria Bartiromo are slated to testify during the civil trial to settle the defamation claims brought by Dominion Voting Systems, Reuters reports.

In the $1.6 billion case, Dominion will be able to question the hosts about their public, on-air statements claiming Dominion fraudulently rigged results to favor Democrat Joe Biden, versus their private internal discussions where virtually all of them dismissed the possibility of election tampering.  The judge in the case has already determined that it’s unquestionable Fox personalities lied on the air and knowingly broadcast false information.  The trial will now determine if Fox did it maliciously and what damages Dominion incurred.

On the political side of things the MAGA Republican Party didn’t have that bad of a day at least as far as Manhattan goes. True, Marjorie Taylor Greene’s piss-poor planning ruined her stupid rally for Trump. The dumbass claimed the libs ruined it for her, which is bullshit. They didn’t get anywhere near her. She could have easily stood in the back of a pickup truck equipped with a loudspeaker to give her speech. Instead she stepped out into the street and got mobbed by reporters.

But enough of what happened outside the courthouse and more about inside… Trump was not slapped with a gag order. His charges were more or less what was expected. Crucially the statement of facts did not allege any hush money payouts to anyone besides Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels. Yeah, the doorman and the baby out of wedlock is mentioned but aside from establishing a pattern it’s pretty much a dead end. Before Tuesday it was easy to imagine that there might have been more and possibly worse situations covered up. Like could you picture the explosion of rage from MAGA world if Bragg alleged that the Cohen-AMI pipeline also paid off one or more of Ivanka’s friends who said Trump sexually assaulted them when they were in 10th grade or something like that? The fanboys would be out of their minds right now… well extra out of their minds.

Stormy and McDougal are already priced in with voters and it’s really hard to see anyone getting moved one way or another after Tuesday’s events. Trump fans can and should find some measure of solace in that there was no further damage done to their Orange Allah’s already sleazy image.

Legally is another story. The vibe from the smart lawyer people seems to be that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is presenting a very solid case on the facts while on the law it’s still a relatively narrow path to a conviction that will hold up on appeal. A guilty verdict is an abstraction for the fanboys and will be for a long time. If and when it does come – and doesn’t get overturned on appeal before the 2024 election, if ever – that will be a very bad day politically in MAGAmerica.

A federal judge on Tuesday tossed MAGA lawyer Alan Dershowitz’s defamation lawsuit against CNN he filed over their coverage of his defense of fat former President Trump during Donald’s first impeachment trial in early 2020. “The evidence in the record does not support a conclusion that CNN ran a ‘story line’ that would establish actual malice,” wrote Trump-appointed Southern District of Florida Judge Raag Singhal in his ruling granting summary judgement in favor of CNN.

White Murdoch kids Elisabeth, Lachlan, and James moved to block their half-Asian little sisters from receiving voting shares in the trust that controls the family media empire, almost like a plot line from a certain good, but still kind of overrated, HBO comedy-drama series.

Stating that Donald Trump can win the state of Georgia in a 2024 presidential general election, Republican Georgia Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene briefly took the streets of New York City to garner some media attention for herself while making comments indicative of someone with little knowledge of history.

Per NBC News, Taylor claims the impending indictment of Trump for illegally funneling money to a porn actress with whom he had a momentary sexual encounter will bolster Trump’s chances in 2024.  Appearing with questionable Republican New York Congressman George Santos (a.k.a. Anthony Devolder), Taylor slotted Trump with people who were actually immorally held and punished because of their skin color or religious beliefs, not for trying to hide an extramarital affair to help his political fortunes.

“Trump is joining some of the most incredible people in history being arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested, served time in prison. Jesus! Jesus was arrested and murdered,” Taylor proclaimed in on a right wing media outlet without mentioning people like Saddam Hussein, Charles Manson, Herman Goering and O.J. Simpson were also indicted for crimes they commited.

The DC federal appeals court on Tuesday denied disgraced former President Trump’s challenge to a lower court ruling ordering minions such as White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Trump social media dipshit Dan Scavino, former National Security Advisor Bob O’Brien, Nazi creep Stephen Miller, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, failed MAGA dating app entrepreneur Johnny McEntee, and some asshole aide named Nick Luna to testify to the federal grand jury investigating the failed coup attempt in the aftermath of their Orange Allah’s humiliating defeat to Joe Biden in the 2020 election, Politico’s Kyle Cheney reports while noting that the ruling may have been unanimous.

And our task, part of our task, is explaining to people what this process is about, and what to expect,” Congressman Mike Johnson told Politico, as if he and other Republicans ever actually take the time to manage expectations during their daily Fox News appearances. “I think some people get anxious because they just want immediate results,” Johnson added, as if they didn’t basically promise immediate results.

“There’s always going to be people who want to go 110 miles an hour and get frustrated with the pace of how things work,” said South Dakota Republican Congressman Kelly Armstrong, again like they didn’t act as if they were going to skip all the letters requesting information and put Hunter Biden in front of a firing squad by sundown on day one of the 118th Congress.

That big Wisconsin state Supreme Court election, which could determine the fate of democracy in the state and maybe even the electoral college in 2024 as it will decide whether the court has a 4-3 liberal or conservative majority, is still being held on Tuesday even though disgraced former President Trump is being arraigned for his crimes in New York, CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski reports.

In the conservative corner is MAGA former state Supreme Court Justice Dan Kelly, appointed by Scott Walker in 2016 to fill a seat vacated by retiring Justice David Prosser and then defeated by liberal now-Justice Jill Karofsky in 2020. Later that year Kelly was paid $120,000 by the state GOP to advise them on the fake Trump electors plan. In the liberal corner is Milwaukee Judge Janet Protasiewicz, who has heavily hinted she’s going to work to protect abortion rights and redraw Wisconsin’s heavily GOP-gerrymandered state legislative and congressional district maps.

Protasiewicz has outspent Kelly and is considered a slight favorite – especially as Kelly already lost three years ago – but it’s possible Trump’s indictment fired up MAGA voters into turning out to support a scumbag who participated in one of the Orange Tyrant’s many crimes against democracy.

Florida Democrats are taking a page out of over-compensating Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’s playbook, asking each of the state’s fifty county school districts to review the book for content that violate’s DeSantis’s ambiguous dictum, the Daily Beast reports.

The requests are obviously publicity stunts, but they do have consequences:  in many counties, such requests must be reviewed, meaning DeSantis’s book, “The Courage To Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival,” would be pulled from the shelves in those schools until a review can be completed.  And there’s always the risk that a librarian could find something objectionable under DeSantis’s own guidelines to justify pulling the book for good so that the included disgusting content doesn’t infect the fertile minds of children, just like he planned.

The administration of Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. named three bases where US military will be stationed over the long term, giving the Pentagon a greater foothold in the region as the Communist Chinese government threatens Taiwan.

NBC News reports Marcus signed the pact, which expands US presence from five current posts to nine, over the objections of China, the archipelagic country’s second-largest trading partner after the United States.  Two of the newly-announced locations–Philippine navy base in Santa Ana and an international airport in Lal-lo in the northern province of Cagayan–provide American forces strategic locations from which they can defend allies in Taiwan.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released a list of 33 House seats that are either currently held by Republicans or will be open in 2024 that they will target in an effort to win back the House, Roll Call reports.

The list includes seats currently held by two Democrats–Katie Porter in California and Elissa Slotkin in Michigan–where they will not run for reelection to the House because they’re running for Senate.  The list does includes the Colorado seat held by Rifle Barbie and woman who will be a Nana before her first colonoscopy is recommended Lauren Boebert, who barely held on to her sit in the last midterm.

The DCCC will target New York’s George Santos and Brandon Williams; Montana’s Ryan Zinke; and insurrectionist Trump supporter Scott Perry of Pennsylvania.  The list was released about two weeks after the Republican House reelection committee announced their targets, a move which resulted in a highly-underwhelming result for the GOP in 2022.
