A staffer for really short Republican Senator Rand Paul was stabbed in the head and torso by some fucking maniac “in broad daylight” on H Street in DC on Monday, according to a statement from Paul’s office and a police report obtained by ABC News. “We are relieved to hear the suspect has been arrested. At this time we would ask for privacy so everyone can focus on healing and recovery,” Paul said in the statement without naming the victim.
🚨#BREAKING McCarthy’s GOP has *postponed* their hearing to help mass shooters. Postponed *NOT* cancelled. Which means they fear the optics not the policy. That is consciousness of guilt. https://t.co/P9wWijhQDI

The shooter who killed three children and three adults at the Covenant Presbyterian School in Nashville, Tennessee on Monday as has been confirmed by authorities as a 28 year-old former student at the school named Audrey Hale, NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez reports.
And yes, it is true that Hale at the very least identified as a man on their LinkedIn profile’s “(He/Him)” pronouns, so expect a lot of transphobic shit from the fanboys over this. They’ll call it a product of “gender dysphoric” mental illness but of course fall silent when asked to explain why that or any other psychological ailment shouldn’t prevent someone from buying two fucking AR-15s.
UPDATE 3/27/2023 5:02 PM EDT: ABC News reports the victims are Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all 9 years old. The slain adults were identified as Cynthia Peak, 61, Mike Hill, 61, and Katherine Koonce, 60, who was the head of the school.
Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, the supermarket tabloid douche who helped broker Trump’s 2016 payoffs to pornstar Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal, testified again to the Manhattan grand jury investigating the crime, the New York Times reports.
Right in the middle of news breaking about a deadly shooting at a Christian school in Nashville on Monday, white nationalist conspiracy freak Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted a video of herself confronting ATF agents arriving for inspection at at a gun range in Georgia:
Today, the ATF showed up with 16 agents, most from out-of-state from cities like LA and San Francisco, to “inspect” Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna, GA.
This visit was unprecedented. The sheer amount of agents from the bluest parts of the country is unusual and unnecessary to… pic.twitter.com/gz2JnOAe39

Maybe not a coincidence that heels-wearing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is holding a not-really-presidential campaign event at that exact location on Thursday. But Greene didn’t mention that – probably because she’s not on Ronnie Meatballs’ team. Even if she did, is it bad thing if federal agents want to make sure a place is safe before a sitting governor visits from out of state?
“My thoughts are with the children and the parents. This country is quickly going down the tubes. It’s been two years of chaos. We were at peace under Trump, the BLM riots were politically motivated by the left. Other than that, we were safe and secure” – The current top comment on the FoxNews.com article “Multiple people injured in shooting at Nashville’s Covenant School.”
Three of the top ten deadliest mass shootings in American history – 2017 Las Vegas shooting which left 59 people dead, the 2017 Sutherland Springs, Texas church shooting which left 26 people dead, and the 2019 El Paso Walmart massacre which left 23 people dead – happened while Trump was in office. Barely two dozen people were killed in racial civil unrest in 2020, most of them were the victims of MAGA vigilantes like Kyle Rittenhouse. Two were federal agents killed by Boogaloos.
The woman who took over the podium is Ashbey Beasley of Highland Park, Illinois, who after surviving the July 4th shooting there became a gun control activist – who just happened to be on vacation in Nashville and showed up to the press conference following the Monday shooting. New reporting also indicates that the shooter was not a teenager as suspected, but 28 years old.
A suspect is dead and an unknown number of victims wounded or killed after a Monday shooting at The Covenant Presbyterian School in Nashville, Tennessee, the Associated Press reports. Covenant is an elementary for children pre-K through 6th grade with about 200 students.
UPDATE 3/27/2023 1:19 PM EDT: Police at a briefing said six victims and the shooter are dead, including at least three children, and the shooter has been preliminarily described as a teenage girl carrying two “assault-type” rifles and pistol.
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Monday announced dictator Benjamin Netanyahu has bowed to massive public outrage and postponed his planned takeover of the country’s judiciary until the next session of parliament, CNN reports on a move some observers see as the likely end of the plan as any delay would sap the political momentum necessary to pull it off.

Convicted Capitol rioter Jenna Ryan, aka the “Private Jet Karen,” who famously claimed she was “definitely not going to jail” on account of her blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I’m not going to jail” before she was in fact sentenced to 60 days in jail on her guilty plea to a parading charge, has launched an awesome Substack blog, the latest post of which features a single-question self-interview on why she still supports President Trump despite her pleas for a presidential pardon being ignored during the two weeks in which Donald could have done it.
“I don’t feel he hung the J6 Defendants out to dry; it was every man for himself after that fiasco. Granted, he should not have invited us to hostile DC, but he’s not perfect. Ultimately he was in a vulnerable position, as were all victims of the 6th of January,” is the closest Ryan comes to actually addressing her own question in the “interview.” Even that’s sort of a heavy lift here. Probably better to just say she didn’t answer it and is instead quite literally acting like an abuse victim still making excuses for her abuser. Like, comment, subscribe to Jenna Ryan’s Subtack!
A multipart question of “For each of the following, has our society gone too far, not gone far enough, or is it about right?” in a new Wall Street Journal/NORC survey finds not as many respondents as Fox News and elected Republicans would like you to think opposed to the “woke agenda.”
On “Accepting people who are transgender,” 43 percent said “gone too far” while 33 and 23 percent said “not far enough,” and “about right,” respectively. Only 12 percent said “too far,” on “Promoting equality between men and women,” versus 48 percent saying “not far enough.” On “Accepting people who are gay, lesbian, or bisexual,” 29 percent “too far,” 37 percent “not far enough.”
With “Businesses taking steps to promote racial and ethnic diversity,” 28 percent said “too far,” 39 percent “not far enough.” On “Schools and universities taking steps to promote racial and ethnic diversity,” they found 30 percent saying “too far,” and 33 percent “not far enough.”
“On 20 March 2023, former President Trump filed a motion that, if granted, would quash the final report of the Special Purpose Grand Jury, a body the Superior Court of Fulton County authorized to investigate possible criminal interference into the 2020 general election in Georgia. The motion also seeks the disqualification of the District Attorney’s Office from any further investigation into or prosecution of such alleged interference. The District Attorney’s Office is ORDERED to file a response to the motion no later than 1 May 2023. That response, beyond addressing the various contentions in the former President’s motion, should also include an opinion on whether the motion requires a hearing for proper resolution,” writes Fulton County, Georgia Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney in ordering DA Fani Willis to respond to disgraced former President Trump’s motion to quash the special grand jury report and disqualify McBurney and Willis from last Monday.
That it took a week for McBurney to even acknowledge Trump’s tantrum and that he gave Willis more than a month to file her response says a lot about what the judge thinks of it, and nothing good for Trump. That’s quite a window for Willis to move ahead with her “imminent” indictment and even then who knows how long he’d take to rule and give Trump something to appeal after May 1st.
The grand jury investigating fat former President Trump’s $130,000 hush money payment to pornstar Stormy Daniels just days before the 2016 election will be hearing testimony from another witness on Monday, NBC’s Garrett Haake reports on another possible day with no indictment.
No word yet on if this witness is completely new or has already testified, but either way it should be pretty clear by now that the Orange Degenerate wasn’t citing any actual new developments in the case when he told reporters “I think they’ve already dropped the case. It’s a fake case. Some fake cases, they have absolutely nothing,” following his cult rally in Waco, Texas on Saturday.
McDonald’s on strike in Israel too
— McDonald’s Israel | מקדונלד׳ס ישראל (@McDonaldsIL) March 27, 2023
“As part of the business forum together with the Histadrut [The General Organization of Workers in Israel, which boasts 800,000 members], McDonald’s Israel will begin to close all its branches starting at 12:00 noon until a total shutdown from 2:00 pm,” says McDonald’s Israel in the tweet.
Feel free to call this article a little too Raw Story-ish, but Lawfare Georgia correspondent Anna Bower on Monday brought up a very interesting theory as to why Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has held off on the “imminent” charging decision she said was coming in January: The Republican majority Georgia state legislature’s ongoing session, which ends on Tuesday.
“Some of us who follow the Fulton County case closely have speculated that Georgia’s ongoing legislative session could be one reason (among others) why ‘imminent’ indictments have not materialized. That session ends tomorrow,” Bower wrote. Again, while we loathe the “WATCH: MSNBC LEGAL EXPERT SAYS TRUMP IS SO FUCKED IT’S NOT EVEN FUNNY, LOL”-type headlines Raw Story, Palmer Report, and their ilk have published 20-plus times a day, every day, for the past six years, this particular bag of hopium sure is damn compelling when you look at how Jim Jordan reacted to the Manhattan DA’s Trump indictment and how that one MAGA asshole state senator freaked out and tried to criminalize that wacky special grand jury forewoman’s media tour.
A new Marist/NPR/PBS Newshour survey finds that 56 percent of respondents – including 51 percent who identify as independents – agree that the multiple ongoing criminal investigations into fat former President Trump are fair, while only 41 percent see it as a “witch hunt”
A plurality (46 percent) agreed that the shit he’s pulled was illegal, while another 29 percent consider Trump to have done things unethical but not illegal, and 23 percent say he’s an angel.
Amid absolutely massive chaos and unrest, Israeli dictator Benjamin Netanyahu is considering a delay on his judicial coup plan, which would effectively mean the end of it as any holdup could cause an irreparable fracture within his ruling coalition, the New York Times reports.
“I just asked my IRA what it thinks about another four years of President Trump… I got a resounding ‘thumbs-up’!” – The current top comment on the TownHall.com article “Trump Announces Texas Leadership Team, Snubs Cruz and Abbott,” posted Sunday. No, you can’t reply. It’s paywalled.
The old “I don’t care how evil or racist Trump is, he makes my wallet happy” was classic genre of MAGA Disqus that got kind of cut short as a pitch for his reelection after Donald fucked up the stock market in 2020 with that whole complete and utter failure to handle the COVID pandemic thing.
A section of Twitter’s source code, the copyrighted backroom on which the social media platform operates, was hacked and posted to Github, a platform for sharing code, the New York Times reports, the latest blow to the company since Elon Musk took over.
Musk, who paid a 110% premium for the company, promised that he would conduct a thorough investigation to determine who stole the material as well as who may have downloaded and shared the code on the internet. Twitter requested Github remove the code, and Github deleted the content.
