China’s Xi elected to third term as president by 2,952 vote margin

Congratulations to China’s Xi Jinping for winning a third term as the nation’s president, winning by a 2,952 vote margin in a vote of the 2,952-member National People’s Congress, which is comprised of people approved by Xi’s ruling Communist Party.

There were no election deniers saying things like they found redwood strands in the ballots used, indicating fake American votes, primarily because there seems to have been no real election:  there were no opponents and no ballots.  The “winners” appear to have been assigned by Party leadership, with the NPC ceremonially approving them, the Associated Press reports.

Hannity sends reporter to harass Mexican kidnap victim

Trump advisor and man who will report anything you want so long as he price is right Sean Hannity cuts off his audience’s applause–Why the fuck does Sean Hannity’s show have a live audience? Have some dignity, man.–had a field reporter harass one of the survivors of the horrific kidnapping-turned-murder of two Americans in Mexico last week.  With the victim hidden under a blanket to maintain their privacy, Hannity shows a clip of the airport encounter while commenting that the victim “refused” to answer questions.  I guess this is what constitutes news when you’re not allowed to cover the admitted corruption at the conservative propaganda network.

Before he admits it, he must first categorically deny it

The funny thing is, Politico tried to sit down with Santos–accused of heading a credit card skimming scam in a recent story–to go over it all but as the story says, “A lawyer for Santos also did not respond to emails and text messages for comment.”

Ohio’s former Republican state Speaker, state GOP Chair convicted in $60 million bribery, corruption scandal

Former Republican speaker of the state house Larry Householder and former state GOP chairman Matt Borges have been convicted in a corruption scandal that would have netted an Ohio power company a one billion dollar taxpayer bailout for a nuclear power plant, CBS News reports.

Prosecutors allege Householder created a scheme, funded by Akron-based utility company FirstEnergy Corp., that would allow him to get lackeys elected to seats, giving him enough votes to pass the bailout legislation.  An energy industry lobbyist at the time, Borges was accused of aiding Householder’s plan.

The scandal, which culminated with more than 150 charges filed against the group, led to the expulsion of Householder from the state house, which he once ran but where he became the first speaker thrown out of office.

Orange Warlord explodes over Manhattan DA report

As expected, disgraced former President Trump on Thursday responded to the New York Times report that the Manhattan District Attorney may indict his fat ass as early as next week for charges related to the hush money payment to pornstar Stormy Daniels in the days before the 2016 election.

“I did absolutely nothing wrong, I never had an affair with Stormy Daniels, nor would I have wanted to have an affair with Stormy Daniels. This is a political Witch-Hunt, trying to take down the leading candidate, by far, in the Republican Party while at the same time also leading all Democrats in the polls, including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Congress and numerous Democrat District Attorneys, Attorneys General, and the Department of Injustice itself, which has unprecedentedly placed top DOJ prosecutors into the Manhattan District Attorney’s office in order to ‘get Trump’, have found that I did nothing wrong. Now, they fall back on the old, and rebuked case which has been rejected by every prosecutor’s office that has looked at this Stormy ‘Horseface’ Daniels matter, where I relied on counsel in order to resolve this Extortion of me, which took place a long time ago. Since then, I have won lawsuits for hundreds of thousands of dollars against Stormy Daniels, and every prosecutors’ office which has looked at it, which are numerous, including the FEC, have turned this fake case down. This is not a state case, it is a federal case, and they have all passed on it.”

Guilfoyle claims friend of Proud Boy Peabody innocent

“…and how new footage has, that was kept from the public is undermining the prevailing narrative about the events at the US Capitol.  But as new video released by Tucker Carlson and provided by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy shows convicted January 6th rioter known as QAnon Sherman actually being escorted…”

Sedate Kimberly Guilfoyle, speaking with the tone of a 1970s heiress being held hostage by radicals reading a proof of life statement, really has that creepy, murderous doll vibe.  Remember, she was a rising star at Fox… prior to being fired for reportedly sexually harassing staffers.

George Santos implicated in 2017 credit card skimming operation

A former roommate of lying piece of shit Congressman George Santos signed and mailed a sworn declaration to federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of New York on Wednesday, writing that Santos orchestrated a credit card skimming operation out of Seattle in 2017, Politico reports.

“I am coming forward today to declare that the person in charge of the crime of credit card fraud when I was arrested was George Santos / Anthony Devolder,” Gustavo Ribeiro Trelha, who was convicted in the scam and deported to Brazil after doing time, wrote in the declaration. The new information tracks with recent reporting that Santos was questioned by the Secret Service in 2017 after his address was found in a rental car connected to an ATM skimming operation.

True to their word, cartel delivers kidnappers to police

Mexico’s Gulf Cartel exhibited more honor than the previous administration as it left five members–suspects in the murder of two Americans–bound in the back of a truck for police to find, following through on a promise made earlier to send the gang members responsible to justice.

The Washington Post reports the five men where found in the back of a truck at the intersection in Matamoros where four Americans were kidnapped last week.  Two of the Americans were later found dead, a third was wounded and the fourth was unharmed.

Trump indictment imminent in Manhattan: NYT

Manhattan prosecutors invited Donald Trump to testify before the grand jury investigating his alleged financial fraud relating to his payment of $130,000 to cover up an extramarital affair with porn star Stormy Daniels, the New York Times reports on a sign that the grand jury investigation is coming to an end and that indictments are forthcoming.

The case involves charges of fraud that could lead to up to a four-year prison sentence if Trump is convicted, which is a certainty should Trump get indicted by the grand jury.  The grand jury could choose to indict on a misdemeanor or if they believe Trump acted with “intent to defraud” in order to commit or coverup a crime, it could be elevated to a felony. Michael Cohen, Trump’s attorney at the time who has already served jail time for his involvement in the scheme to keep Daniels quiet prior to the 2016 election, is expected to testify before the grand jury next week.  Trump funneled the money to pay Daniels through Cohen, who was paid hundreds of thousands from Trump for his help.

Justice Department lawyers inadvertently sent classified information to Proud Boys attorneys, delaying trial

The seditious conspiracy trial of leaders of the domestic terrorist group the Proud Boys has been delayed after prosecutors realized they had sent accidentally sent classified information to the defense team, Politico reports.

The breach happened when prosecutors provided defense counsel with a spreadsheet containing text messages sent by an FBI agent to her colleagues regarding the defendants and the January 6th Republican-led domestic terrorist attack on Congress.  To comply with the discovery process where the defense is provided copies of evidence prosecutors intend to use, the FBI downloaded the agent’s text messages into a spreadsheet, removing anything clearly marked as classified.  In the next step, the agent reviewed the remaining messages, eliminating anything irrelevant to the case and also confirming no classified information was included.  She sent the document to prosecutors who provided the spreadsheet to defense counsel.

Somehow in that process, a number of spreadsheet rows became hidden, meaning that the content was still on the file but hidden from viewers of the spreadsheet without “un-hiding” them.  The agent thought she was sending around two dozen messages to prosecutors; the file contained thousands of hidden lines, DOJ lawyers told the court.

Maine DMV recalls vegan’s “LUVTOFU” vanity plate

Maine vegan Pete Starostecki tells the AP he’s disappointed after the state Department of Motor vehicles deemed his “LUVTOFU” vanity license plate inappropriate and ordered it returned, even though Starostecki has several pro-tofu stickers on his car making his intent unmistakable.

“It’s my protest against eating meat and animal products,” Starostecki said after the DMV rejected his appeal. In 2015 state officials stopped caring what people put on their vanity plates, leading to an explosion of what apparently were literally tags such as “FUCKSNOW,” “FUCKH8RS,” and “FUCKALS” (as in “Fuck Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis”). So the Maine legislature decided to hit the brakes and ordered the DMV to reinstitute a review process for plates this year, which is why innocent and well-intentioned vegans like Starostecki can’t have nice things.

Polite Mexican terrorists leave apology note for killing Americans

Admitting a big “oops,” the Mexican drug cartel said in a note that it apologized for the murder of two Americans who had gone across the border for medical treatment, saying it will turn over the members of the gang responsible for the killings to police, the Associated Press reports.  A photo depicting five bound men lying face down on the pavement, presumably the responsible gang members, accompanied the letter.

“We have decided to turn over those who were directly involved and responsible in the events, who at all times acted under their own decision-making and lack of discipline,” the letter from the Scorpions faction of the Gulf drug cartel reads.  It goes on to say the cartel’s rules include “respecting the life and well-being of the innocent,” and that the people who kidnapped the Americans and killed two while injuring one were going against those rules.  Mexican law enforcement officials could not confirm the suspects were in police custody.

Another Norfolk Southern train derails just before CEO testimony

Hours before CEO Alan Shaw was scheduled to testify before Congress about his company’s string of disasters that including burning vinyl chloride after a train derailment and an engineer being killed in a freight yard, another Norfolk Southern train derail, this time in Alabama, NBC News reports.

More than two dozen cars went off the rails in White Plains, Alabama around 6:45 a.m. local time, with no reported injuries and no suspected hazardous material leak.  In the United States annually, more than 1,000 derailments are reported by railways.  Shaw testified before a Senate committee that an investigation into the East Palestine, Ohio disaster showed the train was being operated properly prior to more than 60 cars derailing and toxic chemicals spilling, which is apparently within the spectrum of outcomes according to the operational guidelines of the railroad

NASA tracking asteroid that could hit on Valentine’s Day 2046

NASA on Tuesday announced they’re tracking an at least 50-meter wide asteroid that could potentially collide with Earth on February 14th, 2046, making for a bloody Valentine’s Day for unfortunate folks in its path, CBS News reports. The evil space rock, the chances of striking are estimated at about 1 in 400, could produce an explosion on the scale of the 1908 Tunguska impact in Siberia were it to strike Earth. And the Tunguska impact was bad.
