Donald Trump, the five-time indicted former president, will turn himself in at the Fulton County Jail on Thursday evening around prime time to maximum viewership of the event, the Guardian reports.  Instead of feeling ashamed of his indictment on racketeering charges for his attempt to disenfranchise the voters of Georgia, Trump will make the proceeding into a circus with himself in the center ring.

A witness who was represented by a lawyer also representing Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, two of Donald Trump’s co-defendants in his Mar-a-Lago documents criminal case, changed his grand jury testimony in the case after ditching the lawyer and getting independent counsel, new documents filed in the case reveal.

In a response to a Garcia hearing to alert defendants about their lawyer’s potential conflicts of interest, lawyers from the Special Counsel’s office note that a client, known in court filings as Trump Employee 4 and represented by Stanley Woodward, Jr. “recanted his prior false testimony” after consulting with an independent lawyer.

Trump Employee 4 has been identified independently as Yuscil Taveras, an IT worker at Mar-a-Lago who reportedly was asked to help delete recordings of people, presumably Nauta and De Oliveira, moving boxes of government documents around the facility after they had been subpoenaed for return to the National Archives.

Marjorie Taylor Greene may not have her “little bitch” Lauren Boebert to push around much longer if apparent voter sentiment holds in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.  A new poll shows Democratic challenger Adam Frisch leading the Rifle misfire by a 50% to 48% margin, well within the margin of error in the Keating Research poll reported by USA Today.  In a 2022 race in a district widely seen as Safe-R, Boebert clawed out a 546-vote victory to secure her second term.

With more than 86% of the vote, the 340,000 UPS drivers who are members of the Teamsters union approved a five-year contract Tuesday, avoiding a strike that would have had ripples across the American economy, NBC News reports.

“This contract will improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of workers,” Teamsters President Sean O’Brien said in a statement Tuesday. “Teamsters have set a new standard and raised the bar for pay, benefits, and working conditions in the package delivery industry. This is the template for how workers should be paid and protected nationwide, and nonunion companies like Amazon better pay attention.”

Part-time workers will get $21 per hour starting wages, with rates increasing to at least $23 per hour over the course of the agreement.  Average top rate pay for drivers will increase to $49 per hour.

Is Trump trying to be Putin, or is Putin trying to be Trump?  It’s difficult to tell sometimes with the incessant lies and bravado to pamper their fragile egos and pump up their horrific legacies.  While the leaders of the other four BRICS nations were gathering in South Africa for a summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin told his underlings that the Russian economy is thriving, exceeding that of Germany.  In reality, it’s not.

According to state-owned Sputnik News, Putin told the national Council on Strategic Development and National Projects that Russia’s economy has filled the holes left by sanctions from foreign nations for Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine–although, of course, he phrased it to glorify the deeds of Russia. In the same vein, he noted that the use of Russian currency in its trade has increased but fails to mention the cause is the freeze on the use of foreign currency–specifically the dollar–by Russia.  Putin claimed that despite the sanctions, Russia had leapfrogged multiple nations to become the fifth-largest economy in the world, overtaking Germany.

In reality, the World Bank generously ranks Russia eighth on the list for national GDP; others rank it as low as fourteenth.  Just last week, the Russian central bank instituted an emergency rate hike after the ruble collapsed, and the nation is facing a loss of talent as young men flee the country to avoid be conscripted into the war.

Apparently unaware American consumers pay the ultimate cost for price increases, multiple-time indicted felon Donald Trump will propose a general 10% tariff on all imported goods as a central focus on his 2024 attempt to regain the White House to avoid jail, the Washington Post reports.

Trump has met with his favorite economic advisors–Larry Kudlow, Brooke Rollins, Stephen Moore and former House speaker Newt Gingrich–who were responsible for skyrocketing deficits that started prior to the pandemic and grew to a $8 trillion bump to the national deficit–to craft a policy he can tout against President Joe Biden, who has celebrated the positive impacts of the administration’s economic program by touring locations benefiting from his programs.

Trump wants a “universal baseline tariff” which he believes will provide a protectionist barrier to American industry, demonstrating Trump’s simplistic understanding of macroeconomics. “When companies come in and they dump their products in the United States, they should pay, automatically, let’s say a 10 percent tax … I do like the 10 percent for everybody,” Trump said in an interview on Kudlow’s Fox Business show last week.

Hours after Tropical Storm Hilary historically hit the west coast as the first Pacific storm system to hit the West Coast in decades, Tropical Storm Harold became the first Atlantic storm to hit landfall of the season when it reached Padre Island, Texas around 10 a.m. local time, CNN reports.

More than one million Texans are under a tropical storm warning, with an average of three to five inches of rain expected to hit the area, with as much as seven inches falling on specific areas over the next two days, with a storm surge between one- and three-feet hitting areas along the Rio Grande River to Sargent, as well as Baffin Bay, Corpus Christi and Matagorda Bay.

Claiming the suit is meant to “deter, retaliate against and prevent” her from exercising her free speech, Arizona sore loser Kari Lake asked a judge to dismiss a defamation suit brought against her by a Maricopa County election official whom Lake targeted in speeches and social media posts, the Arizona Republic reports.

Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer is suing for unspecified damages and punitive payments, claiming he and his family became targets of threats after Lake set her mob on him. Richer sued Lake on five charges of defamation, filing a 104-page, detailed account of specific incidents Lake named Richer or his office and her claims that he was responsible for letting 300,000 bogus ballots into the final vote tally; no such block of fake votes has ever been identified.

Lake, however, argued that her statements were just opinions and that those opinions are free speech, even when they assert provably untrue issues as fact.  “Even a court decision finding insufficient evidence to support a fraud claim to challenge election results is not a finding that the statements are objectively false and cannot be the basis of an opinion about the fairness of an election,” Lake’s motion to dismiss reads.

Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, an Ecuadorian native who served in the House of Representatives for one term, announced her campaign to take on incumbent Florida Republican Senator and historic Medicare defrauder Rick Scott in the 2024 election, Roll Call reports.

Mucarsel-Powell will highlight Scott’s calls to cut popular federal programs like Social Security and Medicare, policies he promoted when he led the GOP Senate reelection race in 2022, which resulted in Democrats picking up an additional Senate seat.  “Rick Scott is trying to raise taxes on our families, he wrote a plan to end Social Security and Medicare coverage, and is trying to strip away abortion rights. Rick Scott is a fraud, and in Florida we know it,” Mucarsel-Powell said in a statement.

Jeffrey Clark, the one-time Department of Justice environmental attorney whom Trump may have impetuously named Attorney General pro tem, has filed a motion in federal court to halt the entire prosecution of the RICO case–or at least, the parts concerning him–because he wants the case sent to federal court.

Besides complaining about the condition of the Fulton County Jail–Clark was apparently expecting ClubMed–Clark believes the entire case is just so stressful he could figure out how to buy an airline ticket to Atlanta because all this is making Clark, a lawyer, so flustered he can’t operate properly, so he needs the judge to take some of these tasks off his plate.

The District Attorney and the Fulton County Sheriff (working together with the District Attorney) are stripped of power to order, process, or threaten unilateral arrests without the approval of this Court given the automatic stay commanded by Section 1446(d). And even if the District Attorney and/or Sheriff had this power, no true grace is involved in permitting “voluntary surrender.” The Fulton County Sheriff runs one of the worst jails in the United States, currently under federal investigation for systematic and horrific violations of the constitutional rights of its inmates, so appalling that several inmates have died in custody in the last few months, including one poor soul who was found dead in a filthy cell covered with insect bites. …

Relatedly, Mr. Clark suggests that an emergency briefing schedule be ordered that fits within the additional days provided by granting an administrative stay. It is designed to allow the Court the necessary time to decide the matter such that either Mr. Clark is not required to book a flight to Georgia under such extreme time pressure (and potentially leading to District Attorney Willis making the argument that he has voluntarily accepted that he is subject to the criminal jurisdiction of Fulton County, which Mr. Clark decidedly does not accept), or to give Mr. Clark time to consider his appellate options.

Hitting back against a crotchety old man, Fox Corp has announced it will not allow Donald Trump’s surrogates to work the “spin room”–the off-camera media room where representatives of the participants give responses to action on the stage–during and after it’s GOP presidential debate Wednesday, the New York Post reports.

Various Trump henchmen including Marjorie Taylor Greene, the candidate’s own spawn Junior, and Junior’s stepmother Oedipal complex Kimberly Guilfoyle were expected to attend the event to troll participants as Don prepares to surrender himself to Fulton County authorities on his RICO charges.  However, Fox’s decision will require them to set up their own media setup.

Ukrainian drones conducted an attack on a military airfield about 800 miles from the Ukraine border, reportedly destroying a supersonic nuclear-capable Russian Tupolev Tu-22M bomber and possibly damaging another, CNN reports.  Photos appearing on social media last weekend showed a Tu-22 in flames, with the pic being geolocated at the airbase in Soltsy.

While the loss of a single supersonic bomber isn’t a huge impact on Russian military readiness, the attack demonstrates Kyiv’s capability of hitting targets deep in Russia.  Located just 250 miles to the Estonia border in the northern half of Russia, Soltsy was believed to be safe from the Ukrainian military reach, leading some to believe the attack was carried out by Russians aligned with the Ukrainian effort or against President Vladimir Putin.

Scott Hall, a bail bondsman who was one of the Republican operatives who illegally accessed voting machines in Coffee County, Georgia, became the first of the 19 co-defendants in the Fulton County RICO case to surrender himself to authorities, NBC News reports.  Hall reported to the Fulton County Jail for processing Tuesday morning.

Trump lawyer John Eastman is expected to turn himself in on Tuesday as well.

David Shafer, one of Donald Trump’s 18 co-defendants in the Georgia RICO lawsuit about undermining the result of Georgia’s 2020 election, submitted to the court a transcript of the December 14, 2020 meeting during which they “certified” their status as electors.

In the transcript, Trump attorney Ray Smith tells the assembled secessionists that their ceremony to swear themselves in as “official electors” is needed to have a legal basis to continue the Trump campaigns multiple failing lawsuits to keep him in office.  In fact, there was no such requirement.

Michigan businessman Perry Johnson, famous for getting disqualified from the 2022 Republican gubernatorial primary after pissing away $7.5 million of his own money on the campaign all because he was too cheap to hire a real firm to conduct his ballot petition drive, once again finds himself on the outside looking in and denouncing the “corrupted” process which saw him excluded from Wednesday’s big 2024 presiential primary debate in Milwaukee, the Detroit Free Press reports.

“Corrupted, plain and simple,” Johnson said of the qualification process requiring him to reach 40,000 unique contributors and 1 percent in a number of national and/or earl state polls. The asshole had even announced last week that he had qualified after spending $8 million this time to get people to kick in to his campaign, but the 0 percent (and literally zero support) showing in the newest NBC News/Des Moines Register polls of likely Iowa Caucus voters probably did him in with the RNC.

The DeSantis Regime-installed Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board members, appointed to inflict a meaningless, empty revenge on Disney for daring to speak out against the diminutive governor’s draconian anti-LGBT policies, are pissed that their predecessors on the Reedy Creek Improvement District received free passes to the park, among other perks, while they don’t, the Associated Press reports citing a complaint filed to the state Inspector General’s office.

“The failed District Attorney of Fulton County (Atlanta), Fani Willis, insisted on a $200,000 Bond from me. I assume, therefore, that she thought I was a ‘flight’ risk – I’d fly far away, maybe to Russia, Russia, Russia, share a gold domed suite with Vladimir, never to be seen or heard from again. Would I be able to take my very ‘understated’ airplane with the gold TRUMP affixed for all to see. More than half of likely Iowa caucus voters think it’s time for the GOP to move on from Trump or at least examine other options, while only 42% picked the indicted felon as their sole choice, a new NBC News/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll shows.

Nearly a third of respondents, 31%, said it’s time for the Party to ditch Trump and get a new candidate, while 26% said they were open to considering candidates other than the Indicted One.  The results show a significant shift in loyalty from June, when 49% of Iowa Party membership were still members of the cult.  Still, with 42% of voters support, Trump will stomp the competition in early straw polls.

The male Kari Lake, Vivek Ramaswamy attempts to justify his conspiracy theory regarding January 6th by referring to his conspiracy theory regarding the September 11th attacks–he said in an interview in the Atlantic, “I think it is legitimate to say how many police, how many federal agents, were on the planes that hit the Twin Towers,”–repeating that he does not believe the official bipartisan 9/11 Commission report:

On January 6th, I do believe that there were many federal agents in the field and we deserve to know who they are.  On 9/11 what I’ve said is the government lied, and this is incontrovertible evidence, Kaitlin, the government lied about Saudi Arabia’s involvement.  There was a Saudi spy named al-Bayoumi, who they lied and the government lied and the 9/11 Commission lied.

He then goes on to say he does not follow the “establishment SuperPAC donor-approved script on these questions,” nor apparently, does he follow reality.
