President Joe Biden made reference Thursday to Negro League and MLB pitcher Satchel Paige in comments, but Fox News edited the clip to make it appear Biden referred to Paige as a “Negro”–instead of airing the full clip in which Biden refers to Paige a “great pitcher in the Negro Leagues.” Look for the deceptive cut at the 11 second mark. The clip above is from the Fox & Friends broadcast Friday mornings; the original clip, below, was aired on Sean Hannity’s show the previous night.
Of course, Fox News is attempting to make this into a racial issue, claiming Biden referred to Paige as a “Negro” when it is clear Biden was referring to Paige’s stint in the Negro Leagues, the segregated professional baseball league that operated prior to the integration of Major League Baseball, but the intentionally deceptive edit of his speech cuts all context.
