Hours after city officials announced that the murders of three Muslim men in Albuquerque were apparently linked, police reported the murder of a fourth Muslim man in an apparent continuation of the murder spree, according to the Washington Post.

The man was killed Friday, but the police did not announce the murder until Saturday.  The victim, Naeem Hussain, was in his mid-20s.  His body was discovered in the street by police responding to a call about shots being fired.  He had attended the funerals for two of the other victims, Muhammad Afzaal Hussain and Aftab Hussein, earlier Friday at the mosque where all three were members.

Funeral services were held for two of the men killed were held Friday at their mosque, and a reception was held at a gathering at the Islamic Center of New Mexico, where all three men were active. His body was found Friday night in the parking lot of Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains, which provides adoption and refugee assistance services.  There’s no known connection between Hussain and the location where he was found.

A truck driver, Hussain, a Pakistani native, had been sworn in as an American citizen one month ago.  He planned to have his wife join him in the United States from Pakistan in the coming weeks when, he had told friends, they would be buying a house.  He has no direct relationship with one of the earlier victims with whom he shared a name.

Police report that they have identified a vehicle of interest in the case, but have not released further details.
