House Freedom Caucasians member Chip Roy on Wednesday announced his endorsement for heels-wearing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for president in 2024, possibly becoming the first currently sitting GOP member of Congress to come officially out in support of Tiny D.
“The next President of the United States must be a vibrant and energetic leader with the faith, vision, and courage to chart a new course. America needs a leader who will truly defend her and empower the people against the destructive force of unrestrained government and corporate excess, profligate spending, and woke cultural indoctrination,” and blah blah blah wrote the Texas Congressman in his endorsement announcement via The Daily Caller. We’ll have to look into this but it does appear that Roy is the first member of the 118th Congress to officially endorse any candidate for the Republican primary other than fat former President Trump in 2024.
