A new Axios/Harris survey finds a plurality of overall respondents at 47 percent say that groceries are harder to afford than they were a year ago when convicted felon President Trump was promising to lower them dramatically if a few hundred thousand swing state voters would just save him from dying in prison. Another 34 percent say they’re “about the same,” which isn’t lower, and 19 percent say they’re “Easier to afford.” Split by partisanship, sur-fucking-prise, it’s Republicans pushing that up at 29 percent saying they’re cheaper. But the self-delusion only goes so far as 34 percent of MAGA voters still say more expensive and 37 percent claim prices are about the same.
Interestingly independents were actually slightly more likely (54 percent) than Dems to say prices are up (50 percent), respectively, and less likely to say they’re down too: 19 percent of Dems said groceries are cheaper to 13 percent of indies. Weird and not the good kind of weird for the Regime.
Of course this being an Axios “Vibes” Survey by supreme anal plug Mark Penn‘s Harris Poll – the douchey branding hammering home the insufferable, GOP ball-slobbering loathsomeness of the two outfits – there has to be a cringey quote from some twat nervously trying to laugh it off.
“The midterms might hinge on a ‘Cleanup on Aisle 4!'” said Harris Poll CEO John Gerzema and good God that is so depressing that this fucker actually said that. This is a grown man and he thought that would come across as “lighthearted.” Fuck. “It’s such a visible signal that life is harder today than it was even last year when we were in an election cycle,” Gerzema continued, adding voters “don’t feel like things are changing fast enough. This is going to be a significant issue for the president.”
