House GOP trying to pick up the pieces on impeachment

House Republicans are trying to gauge what momentum, if any, they still have for impeaching Biden after the 22 day speakership shitshow that left their caucus riven by division, CNN reports.

It might seem like a lifetime ago given the separate self-inflicted clusterfuck of the four attempts to find a new Speaker after Kevin McCarthy was taken down in Matt Gaetz’s palace coup – of which McCarthy’s unilaterally-announced and thus invalid impeachment inquiry failed to stave off – but it’s been just under a month since Oversight Chairbilly James Comer’s utterly disastrous first hearing in the “inquiry” and now Republicans are looking to figure out a new way forward as new Speaker Mike Johnson has tepidly endorsed continuing the effort… if they can find any actual evidence, with Johnson on Thursday stressing to Sean Hannity that’s an important requirement.

House Judiciary spokesman Russel Dye insisted that the inquiry has been “ramped up” and they keep grinding to find new material for “future public consumption,” which was about the only quote CNN included that had any sort of positivity for the fake inquiry getting anywhere whatsoever.

Turncoat piece of shit traitor former Dem-turned-Republican Jeff Van Drew complained that the speakership mess “slowed things down… That was one of my concerns with the entire issue of speaker. The longer we went without one, the more that this would become problematic.” Again, this as if things had been going smoothly when Jonathan Turley testified there was no evidence to merit impeaching Biden and the GOP were just barely able to block Dems from subpoenaing Rudy Giuliani.

“We have so much work we need to get done including these appropriations bills. Let’s focus on that first,” said freshman swing district Virginia GOP Congresswoman Jen Kiggans. California Republican Mike Garcia was in the same boat. “Do I think that the American people, you know, the majority of American people, actually put that on the front-burner and prioritize that right now? I don’t think so. I think we need to get the trains back on the rails and get our government running again, avoid a shutdown, fund the government. And then look at those things,” said Garcia.

Even South Carolina Freedom Caucasian Ralph Norman was sick of it. “Have the facts increased? I would make the argument that they did. And so, the public needs to know it. Now, I don’t know whether we can pass it in here or not.” Former Speaker hopeful Austin Scott said “I do think that James Comer and Jim Jordan will continue with their investigations and if they’re able to bring forward enough evidence that we can convince the Americans that there is the need for impeachment, then at that stage I would think we would move forward. But right now, it’s about making sure we don’t end up in a shutdown and continuing to get the appropriations measures passed. So, I think the investigations continue, but it’s not a front burner issue for me.”
