We would like to thank Disqus for making us look like assholes by not properly displaying the number of comments on each article for nearly 18 hours at this point. They’re always good for a major clusterfuck like this every few months, but this one’s particularly annoying because it makes our site’s community look dead and empty. It doesn’t really matter that literally every other site that also uses the platform is currently experiencing the same problem because not every reader understands this. And why would we blame them for not being fully keyed in on the vagaries of the platform we use for shitposting? All they see is that there are zero comments on these articles.
That being said, if you see the indicator next to the dateline as “No Comments” that means there are literally no comments under that article. If it says “0 Comments” then there actually are, in fact, comments on that article and Disqus’s API is malfunctioning and is not counting them.
