Russian “law enforcement” on Tuesday issued arrest warrants for Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, State Secretary Taimar Peterkop, and Lithuanian Culture Minister Simonas Kairys for the crime of “desecration of historical memory” over the removals of Soviet-era World War II monuments in the aftermath of the Putin Regime’s genocidal invasion of Ukraine, Deutsche Welle reports.

“These are people who take hostile actions against historical memory and our country,” Kremlin spokesworm Dmitry Peskov told reporters. We’ll just leave the parallels between Russian right wingers butthurt over monuments to Soviet commies being removed and American right wingers butthurt over monuments to Confederate Democrats being removed up to our readers.

And that whole thing about Putin facing an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court for actual crimes against humanity perpetrated against the civilian population of Ukraine.

A coalition representing tens of thousands of drivers for rideshare and delivery apps like Uber, Lyft and DoorDash says its members will refuse to work on Valentine’s Day as a protest for fair pay and better conditions for the contractors, Reuters reports.

With 100,000 members, the Justice For App Workers and other worker advocates say that new pay algorithms used by the companies have lowered net pay for drivers, who are all contactors and do not get paychecks or benefits.  “A year into algorithmic pricing, drivers have seen incredible decrease of our pay… whatever calculations and algorithms they’re using, it’s absolutely useless,” said the president of the California-based Rideshare Drivers United union, Nicole Moore.  Uber, for what it’s worth, claims their drivers made an average of $33 per “utilized hour.”

Once again, the leading Republican presidential candidate stated he would not honor America’s commitment to the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance–a statement that feeds uncertainty around the world, not just in Europe–and he’s also invited Russia to invade NATO member he feels hasn’t lived up to a financial obligation that doesn’t exist, a call perking up his buddy Vlad’s ears.  Donald Trump’s long-standing hatred of the defense alliance is clear, and its roots are set in simple manipulation and general ignorance.

Well into his second presidential campaign in 2016, Trump had little to say about NATO, which is, believe it or not, far more than Trump said before his infamous descent down an escalator in June 2015.  Despite putting himself out as a potential Reform Party candidate for the 2000 election, Trump hadn’t commented on the defense alliance in any manner noteworthy enough to be reported by any news outlet through 2014.

The pair would replace current chair Ronna Romney McDaniel, who is being pushed out after years of election underperformance by the GOP; Romney McDaniel will reportedly resign after the South Carolina primary on February 24th.  Trump will also endorse Chris LaCivita, a Trump campaign advisor, to serve as chief operating officer.

Trump doesn’t get to outright assign the leaders of the RNC; that decision comes down to the vote of 168 committee members.  But given that Trump pretty much controls the Party, any objections to his choices by members of the politburo will likely be met with immediate vengeance.

MSNBC’s Kyle Griffin reports that Republican Speaker Mike Johnson will not move on the national security funding bill that the Senate is expected to move on later this week, refusing to bring the bill to the floor and opting to prepare legislation from the House, which has been the historically least-productive House in modern US history.   The this Republican chaos, no aid will be passed to help for Ukraine, Israel, Gaza or Taiwan.

“The mandate of national security supplemental legislation was to secure America’s own border before sending additional foreign aid around the world,” Johnson said in a statement posted online. “It is what the American people de1na nd and deserve. N ow, in the absence of having received any single border policy change from the Senate, the House will have to continue to work its own will on these important matters. America deserves better than the Senate’s status quo.”

President Joe Biden is working to negotiate a six-week ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza in an ambitious effort to free hostages held by Hamas and get humanitarian aid to the Palestinians within the warzone, USA Today reports.  During the ceasefire, Biden said he believes “we could then take the time to build something more enduring.”

“The key elements of the deal are on the table,” Biden said during a photo op at a White House meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II. “There are gaps that remain but I’ve encouraged Israeli leaders to keep working to achieve the deal. The United States will do everything possible to make it happen.”

Disgraced former President Trump will take his fat rapey circus on the road Thursday as Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis and her deputy special prosecutor Nathan Wade face an evidentiary hearing in allegations of an improper relationship brought by Donald’s post-2020 coup attempt RICO case codefendant Mike Roman, the Washington Post reports.

Willis’s bid to quash the subpoena to Wade’s law partner who supposedly could testify to the timing and nature of their relationship failed on Monday, however Judge Scott McAfee sounded, in our opinion at least, more cautious and tentative than anything else, that getting Willis and Wade disqualified from the case all hinges on the testimony of a guy who might be pretty unstable. The kind of thing that if it doesn’t go perfectly could prompt a meltdown from Trump in court, live on TV.

Toward the end of a long, multi–part Truth Social rant over the soon-to-be-concluded civil trial against his corrupt business empire, fat former President Trump actually posted something on top of the same old whiny shit about it, touching specifically on the mess caused by his former CFO Allen Weaselberg Weisselberg being reportedly in plea deal negotiations with the Manhattan DA’s office for a perjury rap incurred in this very trial, writing “Now, this Radical Left Judge, Arthur Engoron, is sending my attorneys inappropriate and possibly illegal emails based on Fake News Stories, in spite of the fact that he isn’t supposed to even be reading the news about me, or this Witch Hunt that he is heading, let alone making any decisions based on it. I hereby demand that the VICTORY already given to us by the Appellate Division” and blah blah blah he’s full of shit.

Engoron’s decision is supposedly coming on Friday and where we last left off he was informing Donald’s lawyers he was going to inquire as to the veracity of the plea negotiations and, if so, Engoron was prepared to invoke “falsus in uno,” which is not a Harry Potter spell but if it was it would be the one that completely fucks up your entire world. Probably why Trump is freaking out.

In relatedly bad news for Trump, Engoron’s colleague Juan Merchan will on Thursday make a ruling on whether the Stormy Daniels payoff trial can start next month. Considering the DC trial won’t start until probably May at the very earliest, the window’s open so might as well take him down.

If Trump wins, as I hope he will, he’s going to be President on January of 2025. So what happens if Donald Trump decides to force Ukraine to go to the negotiating table? What if he releases some of the money but not all of the money What if he decides to do what a president has to do, which is conduct diplomacy? They will impeach him under this legislation that may very well pass tonight out of the Senate. I cannot repeat this enough, The Washington Post has already reported that the purpose of the legislation is to control Trump. What they’re trying to do is create a dynamic where if Trump follows his own campaign promises, they’re going to say it’s illegal and we have to impeach you. Funny story: In 2018 after Dem Tony Evers defeated douchebag incumbent Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, the GOP majority legislature used the lame duck period to steal basically every executive power that wasn’t nailed down by the state constitution, neutering Evers on an array of fronts. As shitty and fascistic as it was, and as much as Wisconsin Dems complained about it, none of them ever were worried that Evers would end up breaking the laws set forth by a gerrymandered, far right legislature that was nonetheless duly elected and legitimate. That’s not where Vance is right now politically… even when you skip the whole surrendering to Putin part.
