Fanone January 6th attacker gets 12.5 years in prison

The domestic terrorist who repeatedly used a stun gun on DC Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone, possibly causing a heart attack the officer experienced, during the January 6th Republican-led attack on Congress was sentenced to 12.5 years in jail in a plea deal, NBC reports.  Prosecutors had sought a 14-year sentence.

DJ Rodriguez ran a Telegram group named “PATRIOTS 45 MAGA Gang” in which he encouraged others to participate in the January 6th attack.  In the group in which he would refer to Trump as “Dad” or “Daddy,” Rodriguez posted on the night before the attack, “There will be blood.”  He reportedly stole a taser from an officer and used it on Fanone repeatedly while others beat and kicked the officer.  The attack was caught on video, with crowdsource investigators labeling Rodriguez “Taser prick” as they worked to identify him.  After the attack, Rodriguez posted on the Telegram channel, “Omg I did so much fucking shit RN and got away,” and “Tazzed the fuck out of the blue.”

The sentence appears to be the second-longest handed out to a  non-seditious conspirator convicted in connection with the January 6th attack.  That dubious honor goes to Peter Schwarz, a 49-year-old Pennsylvania welder with more than three dozen previous convictions who threw chairs and other items at police and then used pepper spray and other chemicals at the police defending the Capitol.

Hunter Biden plea case assigned to Trump-appointed judge

Hunter Biden’s plea case on two federal misdemeanor tax violations and one felony charge of lying on a gun permit application has been to Trump appointed Delaware US Circuit Judge Maryellen Noreika, Politico’s Kyle Cheney reports. Noreika now has the power to override US Attorney David Weiss’s sentencing recommendations in the plea deal and toss Hunter in prison but that’s a stretch given the chilling effect it would have on other defendants who would be amenable to pleas.

Then there’s that Noreika is also presiding over Hunter’s countersuit against blind idiot computer repairman John Paul Mac Isaac and it’s probably wouldn’t be a good look for her to be rocking the boat in that civil case by jailing one of the litigants when she doesn’t actually have to.

Coast Guard admiral not sure what that noise was

US Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger on Wednesday said they’re not sure what the hell the noise picked up by an undersea probe in the North Atlantic was but it might’ve been from those plucky explorers who got lost on their way to check out the haunted Titanic wreck, the BBC reports.

“This has happened in a remote location, we have prioritized our efforts both on surface and subsurface search,” said Mauger who said acoustics experts are analyzing the noise to see if it might have been one of the missing explorers banging on the side of their submersible. Mauger said they still haven’t been able to pinpoint the location from where the noise came, but have narrowed down the search area to try to mount a rescue of tour company OceanGate Expedition CEO Stockton Rush, British Billionaire Hamish Harding, Pakistani-British businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19 year-old son Suleman, and French submersible pilot Paul-Henri Nargeolet.

Biden Administration quietly pressured Brazilian military and political officials to stay the hell out of Bolsonaro coup plot

Several current and former US officials tell the Financial Times the Biden Administration put heavy pressure on a number of Brazilian military and political leaders to stay the fuck out of disgraced former President Jair Bolsonaro’s pre-election plot to remain in power in the event he lost.

“It’s Brazilian institutions that really made sure that the elections took place,” says a senior US administration official about the effort which took place across public and private channels. “What was important was that we conveyed the right messages and maintained policy discipline.” The FT report says Biden himself specifically was hell bent against the “Trump of the Tropics” to pull the same shit the Trump of America had before, during, and after his election loss. Sources emphasized that the Biden Administration’s strategy was not to favor one candidate over another, but to simply make sure the election was free and fair despite Bolsonaro’s worst efforts.

House Republicans “cringing” over Biden impeachment votes

Members of the House Republican caucus are worried about looking like assholes over a two separate “premature” votes to impeach President Joe Biden being brought as early as Wednesday by QAnon fan Congresswomen Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert over the border or Burisma or whatever the fuck their malfunction is this time, Politico Playbook reports.

Some non-Freedom Caucasians, wary of exposing themselves to a pointless vote, are already planning to join with Democrats to swiftly table the impeachment attempts and return the focus to important issues like Hunter’s laptop, gas stoves, and undermining Jack Smith’s investigation.

CNN’s Manu Raju reported Wednesday that a House Republican caucus meeting over the impeachments did not go well, with titular Speaker Kevin McCarthy arguing against it and Greene calling Boebert a “copycat” for stealing her idea to impeach President Joe Biden.

WATCH LIVE: John Durham testifies on his lame investigation

Obamagate Investigation special counsel John Durham will testify Tuesday to spandex wearing grapple freak Jim Jordan’s House Judiciary Committee, probably taking a lot of shit from both Democrats, who correctly think his investigation was a joke, and Republicans, who are deeply disappointed that their anti-Deep State crusader put no one in jail. Check out Marcy Wheeler’s “Guide to the false claims John Durham will tell Congress” for a cheat sheet on the hearing.

ProPublica drops story Alito was trying to get out ahead of

As expected, the ProPublica story far right extremist Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito was trying to get out in front of with his Tuesday night Wall Street Journal op-ed dropped on Wednesday morning, hitting all the predictable notes of Alito accepting luxury travel from a billionaire plutocrat with business before the Supreme Court. Sounds like Sam had fun with hedge fund hustler Paul Singer on a $1,000/day fishing jaunt in the Alaskan wilderness in the summer of 2008 – which of course he there and back on Singer’s private jet – just a few years before a 2014 decision which landed 7-1 in favor of Singer’s hedge fund against Argentina to the tune of $2.14 billion.

Orange Pharaoh terrified Mark Meadows has flipped

Disgraced former President Trump is increasingly worried that former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has reached a deal with Justice Department special counsel Mark Meadows to testify in both the classified documents and post-2020 election coup cases, Rolling Stone reports.

Adding to the worry is that Meadows and his lawyer have had little to no contact with other Trump minions for months, leading some to start using a rat emoji in text conversations about him. Even without Meadows potentially having flipped his stupid memoir “The Chief’s Chief” has caused far more problems than it was worth. “How many times can Mark fucking put the [former] president in a bind because of that book…[that basically] no one read?” one minion cried to Rolling Stone, referring to the damning interview captured on audio in which Trump admitted he hadn’t declassified an Iran war planning document that he had stolen from the White House.

Texas power grid strained as heatwave, storms stress system

Somebody better check on the welfare of Snowflake, Ted Cruz’s dog that he routinely abandons while his family jets off to Mexico during power failures in Texas.  NBC News reports ERCOT, the company responsible for the independent Texas power grid, has asked customers to cut back on usage as the state deals with a heat wave, which obviously nobody saw coming to Texas in June.

You may remember ERCOT as the villain in the 2021 power outage in which parts of its key infrastructure to deliver electricity and natural gas to its customers, prompting comic relief Ted Cruz to jet to Cancun before returning after being shamed.  In this case, ERCOT claims it was “not experiencing emergency conditions” but was asking customers to cut back to as many areas of Texas hit record highs.  In West Texas, San Angelo reached an all-time high of 114 degrees Fahrenheit.  Thousands of customers are still without power around Texas after storms and tornados hit the area.

Alito preemptively attacks ProPublica report in WSJ op/ed, so whatever ProPublica’s got on him must be killer

Samuel Alito has never taken the tradition of upholding a pretense of impartiality for the people who wear the robe seriously.  From mouthing “not true” when Obama correctly pointed out how damaging the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling would be to the political landscape to an accusation that he leaked a ruling, Alito has always exhibited a freedom from accountability, so much so many consider the Court’s current iteration the “Alito Court.”  (Sorry, John Roberts.)

Alito’s on the attack again, this time against ProPublica for an as-yet-unpublished report presumably involving Alito, a private jet trip to Alaska, billionaire right-wing political activist Paul Singer, and questions about two ethics issues:  if Alito reported the gifts and if he should have recused himself in cases involving Singer’s interests. How do we know about these topics if the story is now unpublished?  Well, because the kind people at Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal gave the Supreme Court Justice free ink to publish his response to the charges Alito expects.  As a reputable journalistic outlet, reporters at ProPublica asked Alito for his comments on a number of issues, allowing Alito to suss out the topics and undertake his pre-emptive attack.

Comer looking to haul Delaware prosecutor in for questioning

House Republican morons James Comer and Jim Jordan are looking at hauling Trump-appointed Delaware US Attorney David Weiss in for testimony after “betraying” them with a relatively light plea deal for their mortal enemy Hunter Biden on tax and gun charges, Punchbowl’s Max Cohen reports.

“I think the US attorney will be invited to testify to some committee, whether it be Judiciary or Weaponization or Oversight,” Comer told Cohen. When asked by The Messenger’s Steve Neukam about the fact that Weiss is a Trump appointee, Comer said “even Trump himself admitted he made some mistakes in hiring. I’m not saying he made a mistake with the US Attorney in Delaware or not.”

Top Oversight Dem Jamie Raskin rolled his eyes, telling Politico’s Kyle Cheney “There is a deep-rooted tradition, rooted in the constitutional separation of powers, of Congress not interfering in the progress in particular criminal investigations and prosecutions,” as if Comer and Jordan care.

Boebert public humiliation tour books another date

Failed Colorado restauranteur and challenger for Colorado’s youngest grandmother, Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert claims she found a super-ingenious way to demand an impeachment vote on the floor of the House without having to go through those pesky committee hearings in which investigations occur and things rather important to an impeachment–like evidence, testimony and shit–are collected.  Nope, good ol’ Boebs is just gonna demand a vote on impeachment with her Matrix-y reimagining of the House’s parliamentary rules.

InfoWars co-host to plead guilty to January 6th charges

Owen (don’t call me Vern) Shroyer, Alex Jones’s sidekick on his InfoWars conspiracy crockpot, has changed his plea in his trial on charges stemming from his part in the Republican-led January 6th domestic terrorist attack on Congress and is expected to plead guilty on Friday to charges laid out in a plea deal, Politico’s Kyle Cheney reports.

During an earlier court appearance after his 2021 arrest, Shroyer tried everything under the sun to get Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee, to drop the two misdemeanor charges he faced. He compared himself to Jesus Christ and the Dalai Lama, claiming that his actions were peaceful.  Then he claimed he was invited into the Capitol by police officers.  And then he attempted to convince the judge he was acting as a journalist and simply reporting the event…. except he is on video in the Capitol yelling, “Today we march for the Capitol because on this historic January 6, 2021, we have to let our Congressmen and women know, and we have to let Mike Pence know, they stole the election, we know they stole it, and we aren’t going to accept it!”

“JFK Jr who’s a very nice person, I know him very well”

The QAnon fans are going to freak out with joy over this “secret signal” from Trump that John F Kennedy Jr is still alive while Bret Baier mutters “Robert… Robert” trying to correct him. The real lede might’ve been Donald again pre-excusing not participating in the Republican primary debates but QAnon-JFK Jr angle triumphed over real political implications in this shitshow once more.

Colorado Attorney General indicts six canvassers for forging dead voters’ signatures on Republican’s ballot access petition drive

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser on Tuesday announced his team brought felony indictments against six employees of a Wyoming-based canvassing firm on charges they forged the names of dead people on a petition to get Republican Carl Andersen on the 2022 primary ballot for the state’s 7th US House District, the Denver Post reports on more conservative “election integrity” efforts.

Anderson never made the ballot as he was disqualified last June after the Secretary of State’s office determined there was an “unusually high number of signatures on the Andersen petition that did not match signatures in voter files” and that at least several of them were too dead to have signed the petition, promptly referring the matter to the Attorney General. Weiser’s office said Anderson himself was not implicated in the scam, nor was “Grassfire,” the canvassing firm that employed the six scumbags. “Colorado’s best-in-class election system depends on individuals playing by the rules and acting with integrity,” said Weiser in a statement. “When candidates, their agents, or others in the process are deceitful and break the rules, they must be held accountable.”

Arkansas ban on trans care for kids struck down by federal court

In the first of a series of lawsuits challenging anti-LGBTQ measures passed by Republican-led states in their ongoing culture war, a federal judge struck down Arkansas ban on medical care for transgender children saying it violates the Constitutional rights of both the patients and the doctor, the New York Times reports.

James M. Moody, an Obama appointee, also ruled that Arkansas failed to prove a number of the claims it asserted regarding the law’s stated purpose of protecting children from harmful medical care, stating that Arkansas’s attorneys didn’t prove the care was experimental or was recklessly prescribed.  At least twelve states have similar laws, which are all facing similar legal challenges.

“Rather than protecting children or safeguarding medical ethics, the evidence showed that the prohibited medical care improves the mental health and well-being of patients and that by prohibiting it, the state undermined the interests it claims to be advancing,” Moody wrote, adding, “Further, the various claims underlying the state’s arguments that the act protects children and safeguards medical ethics do not explain why only gender-affirming medical care — and all gender-affirming medical care — is singled out for prohibition.”

Santos loses appeal to keep bond suretors’ names under seal

In the very unlikely event that fabulous fabulist Long Island Republican Congressman George Santos was telling the truth when he said he’d rather go to jail than allow the names of the three individuals who paid his $500,000 bond be unsealed, his chance has arrived as a federal judge has issued a deadline of noon on Thursday to surrender or secure other suretors before the names will be unsealed following Tuesday’s dismissal of his appeal to keep them secret from the public. We’re still just a wee bit skeptical of his claim that the suretors are simply his family members.

False flag white powder attacks target Trump, Clarence Thomas

A series of false flag white powder packages sent to disgraced former President Trump, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and a number of Republican Kansas state officials is raising concerns about which other right wing figures could be “targeted” next in the fake attempts to make the fat degenerate tyrants look like sympathetic victims to everyday Americans.

We don’t have any evidence whatsoever this is a false flag, but let’s give this situation the same benefit of the doubt the fanboys did when Paul Pelosi’s skull got bashed in with a hammer, when a white powder got mailed to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, when inoperable bombs got mailed to CNN, George Soros, Hillary Clinton, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Maxine Watters etc, when an angry mob attacked the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021, and you pick which time innocent people were gunned down by an angry young man with an AR-15:

None. We’re just going to treat this as a false flag until the facts prove otherwise and then we’ll just ignore it when some Antifa libtard weirdo gets arrested for this. And if that never happens we’ll just act as if our assumption is the canonical truth. Let’s see how the fanboys like it.
