Senate Majority Leader John Thune on Sunday told NBC’s Kristen Welker she should reach a deal with Congressional Republican to avoid a shutdown if she’s worried about federal government workers getting laid off. While obviously when Thune used her “you” in that sentence he really was addressing Congressional Dems… probably. He doesn’t seem as pilled as Megyn Kelly is these days, but “you” never know, right? Later in the above clip Thune stressed the importance of American taxpayers bailing out his state’s soybean farmers – whose access to Chinese markets had been completely annihilated by convicted felon President Trump’s stupid trade war – or otherwise he’ll be forced to continue to not do his job as leader of half of a coequal branch of the government.
